For about 40 years, a lesbian bar in Columbus called Summit Station was a mainstay in our city's queer community. I was about 10 when it closed, but I'm learning more about its history through a cool film project to help tell its story. This is part one of much more to come:

I love watching men’s gymnastics because I’m like, “Huh. I always loved playing on the rings on my friend’s swing sets. I could totally do that!” when in reality I’m capable of doing like MAYBE 15 consecutive push-ups max.
We’ve been workin’ 9 to 5 to bring Ohio a Dolly Parton Imagination Library license plate!

When people say that Jim Crow was so long ago, it’s important to remember the lasting effects of segregated spaces — like segregated swimming pools — and the continued impact across generations. This visual reflects that legacy.
A reminder that the biggest threat to Ohio election integrity continues to be dark money groups that influence CANDIDATE elections. The HB6 First Energy scandal and recent GOP primaries continue to highlight how pervasive this money is in Ohio politics. Yet, that’s not the campaign finance issue Republican leaders want to tackle (or talk about). /1

BREAKING: @COTABus just launched a November ballot measure to finally build the mass transit system we deserve. The plan includes 45% more service hours, 50+ miles of rapid transit lines that will feel like light rail, and 500+ miles of sidewalks, bike lanes, and trails. 🧵 (1/7)
Ohio's corrupt supermajority is choosing to keep Biden off your ballot
How to punish them:
Show up this November & vote for:
1️⃣) the https://t.co/qHNv8hG42x amendment -- ban ALL politicians from Ohio's redistricting process
2️⃣) Dem state Supreme Court justices
3️⃣) Sherrod Brown
A recap of today's news, Ohio Republicans are 1) refusing to put the sitting President of the United States on the ballot 2) proposing to make teachers and librarians felons under a vague law and 3) Advocating suffocating prisoners to death with a method vets won't use on animals
🧵 Secretary of State Frank LaRose recently announced his plans to delete thousands of eligible Ohio voters from the rolls just two months before voting starts in this presidential election 1/
