According to the students, last Sunday’s strike was a result of their grievances from the previous strike not being addressed and the principal (Mr. Sang) being rude and abusive to students. Mr. Sang has been shielding Mr. Mitei, who was the main cause of the previous strike, despite calls for TSC to address the issue and possibly transfer him. He even rudely told students that Mr. Mitei is going nowhere.

He then started being overly strict and acting petty since parents asked that students shouldn’t be beaten. Instead of reasoning with them, he dishes out suspensions for even minor mistakes that ordinarily should be ignored or addressed through discussion. A few months ago, he collectively punished the entire Form 2 class for a mistake that wasn’t clear. The students were beginning to feel fed up, and just a week ago they started planning a forced half-term, but the administration downplayed the threats.

They want Mr. Sang, Mr. Mitei, and the entire administration gone, since they claim they are responsible for the declining performance of the school.
