What we fail to understand is that Glasgow is an “opening” that will be born with or without multilateralism, with or without a Global Britain, with or without Political will... the world needs the gift of Glasgow to begin healing from the memory of the Pandemic.
As yet another #Climate#COP looms and the clock ticks, time to think big: a real #EnergyTransition will come not from small steps at the margin, but is #COP28 ready to even discuss the meaningful and big steps needed?

Having retired two weeks from my University Chair, this @anemonanyc @nytimes piece speaks to the skeletal failure we are facing, teachers and students both, in the western liberal democratic construct of institutions. https://t.co/prwsA03jiN
"I believe passionately in the ideal of the university. ... The transfer of knowledge between the generations is a sacred activity." I hugely enjoyed this conversation with the brilliant @lexfridman about the new University of Austin, among other things: https://t.co/ZvwnA6pv0B
Dr S Marinescu, a powerful @UN force behind @COP26 process diplomacy- the next 12 months, after committing to NetZero 2050, will be about devising and delivering a new global multi systematic economic program. @ScotiaGroup26 is grateful to her, @JeffDSachs and @AOSISChair

This report brings to light the granular process of launching initiatives that inspire urgent climate action by assembling a collective of experts to “Sherpa” the process, making it meaningful, successful and impact driven.
Tracing the Scotia Group’s progress since its inception, this report ties together Scotia’s mission, methodology and outputs to reflect on how the prominent global network of leaders committed to the success of Glasgow COP26 since 21st January 2021.
A message of statesmanship by Professor Anton Muscatelli @UofGVC @ScotiaGroup26 true autonomy, idealized or imagined, is about leading the world by example. 🏴🌍🇺🇳 https://t.co/uiZqLTxZ5d
Crises reveal who leaders are. and Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley is truly an exceptional one.
She is the remarkable leader who has delivered the speech the world needed to hear. #COP26
The intensity of climate negotiations in @g20org is unprecedented. This is not the 2015 world where @BarackObama had to push for a Paris Agreement. The force of gravity is with #ClimateAction I hope that Australia, India, China and the USA don’t come out as the spoilers of @COP26
G20 as a C20 to succeed in a Glasgow NetZero 2050- stay the course and things might just fall into place. @ScotiaGroup26 Climate20+ for @g20org 2050-2060 quantified legal variable should not hold the commitments back. Just do it! https://t.co/YM716SLoHY
@aruhweza @WWF @ScotiaGroup26 calls on @g20org “In Africa, farmers who have lost everything and their hungry children are looking for signs of hope in Glasgow” @COP26 @UNFCCC https://t.co/rFfddc88NR
@michaeldrich is a distinguished leader and thinker. In a world full of lies he made us think about “Truth” again. The direct and indirect impact of his leadership @RANDCorporation made the world a better place. It is my honor to call him my friend. #happyretirement
Michael D. Rich, our CEO and president for the past decade, announced he will retire in 2022 following a search for his successor.
Rich began his extraordinary RAND career as a summer intern in 1975 and went on to hold several senior leadership positions. https://t.co/YzuID8iEFP
@Alancumming @ScotiaGroup26 calls for global solidarity and a “Human Moment of Mindfulness” to support the success of @UNFCCC @COP26 on 11 Nov at 11:11AM UN Time EST/4:11PM Glasgow Time #1111-1111 https://t.co/ctkQIRULq2
My late father in law would have also insisted on an international NetZero 2050 agreement @COP26 Glasgow to compliment Saudi Arabia’s historical pledge in order to stabilize global energy markets!
The then #SaudiArabia Oil Minister Sheikh Zaki Yamani said 30 years ago that 'The Stone Age did not end for lack of stone, and the Oil Age will end long before the world runs out of oil'. Today #SaudiArabia committed to #NetZero2060👍🏼and helps fulfil Yamani's prediction. #COP26.
In negotiations one must create an “anchor effect”. NetZero2050 is still the Glasgow target but glad that KSA stepped up the game. In order to do so we must accept KSA to be last to close the taps and lead OPEC diplomacy to a 2030 Energy Transition https://t.co/WPzziEK4NX
