Met with H.E @WilliamsRuto, Kenya's President during the United Nations General Assembly Openning Ceremony. In my speech I highlighted Kenya's indelible commitment to warmly welcome refugees, support them and give them hope as witnessed through my story.
They say nobody gets into Yale. But God has not forgotten the cattle herders. Humbled to become the first Kenyan lawyer in approximately 33 years to join Yale’s LL.M. class of just 25 lawyers worldwide. Excited for this chapter.
When we landed in Nairobi and I handed her over to her guardians, I couldn’t stop thinking about her future. The road may not be easy, but I hope she thrives.
Today I celebrate the girl I once was; and the girls just starting their journey. #InternationalWomensDay#GiveToGain
This year I’m celebrating #InternationalWomensDay2026 through a moment of reflection. Last week I travelled from South Sudan to Kenya accompanying a young girl beginning a journey that felt deeply familiar to me, the same age I was when I first came to Kenya for a new life.
This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” felt real in that moment. Years ago someone helped guide me through the unknown. On this journey, I had the chance to walk beside another girl at the beginning of hers.
… Watching you grow into the incredible woman you are today fills my heart with so much pride Mate❤️ Your strength, resilience, and determination Speak Volumes of YOU. Here's to continuing to chase your dreams and making a mark on the world Map.
The future is indeed female.
The situation in Kakuma Refugee Camp is becoming increasingly complicated. UNHCR & WFP claims to have shortage of food and water supply for refugees. If that is the case then why not repatriate refugees to their countries and resettle the rest? @Refugees@RefugeesAfrica@WFP
Interestingly, one of the protesters says the government wants to integrate them "by force," citing the changes happening in the camp as part of the transition towards integrated settlement under the new strategy- Shirika Plan.
Scores of refugees stormed Kakuma Town Friday to protest the scarcity of food and water. They are also against planned integration with the host community.
The exclusion of refugee leaders in Uasin Gishu and the silence regarding the current ongoing Kakuma demonstrations demonstrate a systemic failure. The DRS must prioritize transparency, communication, and respect for refugee communities.6/6
Every time a student who knows me walks by the JKM Library @uonbi, they take a photo of this banner and send it to me. It is a symbol of resilience, hope & the boundless potential of refugees to rise & lead. Generations will see it and know: success is possible #RefugeeExcellence
Wangari Maathai was the first female professor in Kenya and the first African woman to be awarded the #NobelPeacePrize. She founded the Green Belt Movement, which led to the planting of millions of trees.
Today we announce the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize.

@malith_monicah helped to open the Summit of the Future at #UNGA in New York, representing millions of forcibly displaced people.
And she had a clear message to current world leaders and future ones. #OurCommonFuture
"I stand as a voice for the youth, for the refugees, and for all those forgotten."
@malith_monicah, a South Sudanese refugee living in Kenya, opened the Summit of the Future at the #UNGA in New York with a powerful call to action.
Her speech emphasized that the escalating forced displacement crises are among the world’s most pressing issues and highlighted the need for long-term, compassionate solutions that preserve dignity and foster meaningful contributions from refugees. She reminds us that when refugees are not meaningfully included, we all lose out.

Known for her philanthropic work, the Crown Princess was incredibly welcoming and humble. Despite her royal status, she made us feel at ease and engaged in a meaningful conversation. The experience was truly inspiring.

I had the extraordinary opportunity to visit the Crown Princess of Greece, Marie-Chantal, at her residence. The visit was a highlight of my recent International trip and marked the beginning of a new friendship with a Royal.

If you speak of the future, what vision encounters your Eyes?
I see it clearly—
Truth is the gaps grow wider still,
The structures are rusting,
While they talk about reform,
Our future deliberations
Must not be rehearsed platitudes,
But revolutions of thought ....⏳
If you speak of the future, what picture do you feature in your mind?
#FellowYouth
The future is ours to forge.
Not theirs to cling to,
Not theirs to pass down like spoils of war.
It belongs to the bold,
To those who speak,
I pick my choice, and I choose to speak!
