Heart attack and stroke don't usually happen “out of the blue.”
Many of their risk factors can be identified and modified years before the event.

✅For adults ≥30 years, know your:
1. Blood pressure
2. LDL-C/ApoB
3. Lp(a): ideally once in adulthood
4. Blood Glucose/HbA1c
5. Waist circumference
6. Smoking status
7. Physical activity
8. Sleep duration/quality
9. Weight & visceral fat
10. Family history of premature heart attack/stroke

🔸Also consider diabetes, kidney disease, chronic inflammatory disease and psychosocial stress.
🔸For selected people, CAC scoring can help refine cardiovascular risk when the decision about preventive treatment is uncertain.

✅Don't wait for symptoms. Know your numbers, identify your risks and act early.
▶️Especially in South Asians, prevention should begin well before the first heart attack or stroke.
