What an incredible journey I have been fortunate enough to share with this wonderful gentleman. From observing his total laryngectomy surgery to now! Today I sent him off home with a HANDSFREE device just in time for his holiday. He had a goal, and he smashed it!!🤩🎉 #SUCCESS
A truly wonderful placement with the most fantastic educators! 👩🏫 thank you for the opportunity to meet with different members of the MDT and highlighting the importance of effective communication! 📚 really looking forward to my next placement in a hospital based setting! 🏥
Really enjoying my placement this week with @mpftnhs@AHPplacements. We had a great opportunity to join the AHP meeting and provide feedback on our discussions with clinicians about the communication strategies they are using and areas they'd appreciate further support #mySLTday
Looking forward to completing the resource with @mallonsSLT@clairieb which will support staff in identifying communication needs in young people and having strategies to support this @FiShawSLT @CommonSenseSLT@mpftnhs@AHPplacements
What an interesting and insightful day at placement today! We have had so many wonderful opportunities to meet with different members of the MDT including Clinical Psychologist, OT’s, Social Workers, Learning Disability team etc!
Thank you to all the staff who gave up their time and spoke to us today about how they support children and young people with mental health difficulties. So much for us to think about.
What a fantastic first day of our placement today - thank you @CommonSenseSLT and @FiShawSLT for helping us get started. And what a brilliant day hearing about some of the brilliant communication strategies already being used at @mpftnhs, @RCSLTLearn@SLTatBCU@SLT_BCU_MSc
It was excellent meeting our 3 Masters @SLTatBCU students this week. All raring to go for their 1 week @AHPplacements after the Easter Hols. Looking at removing barriers to Ax & Treatment by considering language used in CAMHS-focus on #DLD#Neurodiversity@RADLDcam@RCSLTLearn🤩
