If you think you have Trauma, science says it didn't start with you.
Unhealed trauma doesn't just disappear—it gets passed down through DNA as self-sabotage, cycles of failure, and toxic relationships.
Here's what science says about generational trauma (and how to break the cycle):🧵
I love people who allow u to be tired or not in the mood lol
Some people just want u to be on 24/7 365 and it’s just not realistic lol
For any human being
No one is unbiased. Everything we read, watch, or listen to is biased. And so are we. Wisdom is learning what your biases are and consuming things that bring you closer to the person you want to become.
You create you.
unironically, take an interest in things. visit art galleries, hit up the library and discover-browse. read widely. learn new languages, new words. watch old films. the world is a wonderful place but the sense of wonder is a muscle that must be cultivated like any other.
I don’t believe in punishing people you love if they’ve wronged you through silence and distance. I believe in needing time to process your thoughts, emotions so you can come to a resolution. But not deliberately carving out time/your absence to cause harm. That’s not love.
I trust confrontational people a lot more than non-confrontational ones, because they have no problem raising issues, speaking up and being honest up front
“I’m not doing enough” puts your body into a state of fear, eliciting a freeze response, making it a self fulfilling prophecy
“I’m moving towards what I most want” creates relaxation, opening up your mind to perceive more options, increasing the odds of actualization
people think intimacy is about sex. but intimacy is about truth, acceptance, and safety. when you can freely share your thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged or ridiculed, and show them who you really are and their response is "you're safe with me" - that's intimacy.
The most underrated glow-up? Falling back in love with your life after a long period of uncertainty—finding joy in the simple things, choosing yourself unapologetically, and living in alignment with your most authentic self.
we have to take care of each other. we have to drive our friends to the airport & buy each other coffee without sending $4 venmo requests after. we have to listen like we used to before “trauma-dumping” made us scared to talk to our friends we have to love each other we have to
A bit of good news: Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib both won re-election by commanding margins: 75.2% for Omar in Minnesota, and 69.7% for Tlaib in Michigan. They demonstrate real leadership and we admire their courage and integrity.
I’m seeing people talk about the worldwide trend of countries moving right, and I think that has to be largely understood as the failure of neoliberalism. As liberal parties move right they stop delivering for people and find themselves in political no mans land.
btw fuck all of those celebrities who were silent on palestine for a whole year only to pop up to endorse and perform for kamala for her to just lose anyway. hope it was worth it.
I’mma say the hard thing. Kamala Harris did not lose the election because of racism and misogyny. That was a negligible reason at best. Rashida Talib, Ilhan Omar, and Summer Lee all won their seats in swing states VP Harris lost. Sit with the real reasons why she lost.
