Over 5 months ago my annual service on my beloved R55 picked up the dreaded N47 timing chain rattle. The car was problem-free apart from this. Thinking that @MINIUK were the best people for the job, I took it to my local @Sytner. Oh what a mistake that was.

No option at this point to pursue a claim (and an ICO complaint), unless of course this final more public attempt at resolution works. Moral of the story - avoid @Sytner @MINIUK for any servicing work. #N47 #R55 #MiniCooper

I immediately contacted @MINIUK @Sytner via phone, was told they'd call me back. Guess what? They didn't. So, took the car back next day and was told 'the car computer just needs to relearn your driving style again. If there's no change in a month, bring it back'.

So, now I've had no vehicle for several months (crippling for a self-employed business owner who *needs* transport to work), and @MINIUK and @Sytner don't seem to care about resolving this. Might be worth noting that this timing chain work cost £3,300 - not a cheap job!

Firstly, the car wasn't ready on time (it took SEVERAL days longer), the comms were awful (I had to call them, they never called back), and then on collection I noticed my car was considerably under-powered and only returning 37mpg. It's a 1.8D, previously attaining c.57mph

Still NO contact whatsoever from @Sytner to my detailed email containing evidence of their incompetent work. Now the costs I'll be reclaiming will include my own legal fees and expenses in addition to repair work. I would urge everyone to avoid @SytnerMINI

REALLY disappointed to have confirmation from independent garage that @SytnerMINI messed up major (and expensive) engine work on my beloved Clubman, and despite having 2 opportunities s to rectify failed to even identify the problem. What's your head office email please @Sytner ?

@SytnerMINI @Sytner The independent garage immediately noticed a major oil leak caused by @SytnerMINI poor work, so how was this missed on the two occasions I returned it? After reading @Motor_Ombudsman code of practice, seems they haven't adhered to this either.

@WeAreTheMU Since being a regional committee member and @cultcymru ULR, I can confirm that taking a more active role in the union & helping to effect change & improvements for all musicians is far more rewarding and personally motivating.

Back in Wales today after a rejuvenating and inspiring few days at @wearethemu delegate conference.

This was not my first conference, but it was my first Musicians’ Union one, and undoubtedly the most inclusive, diverse and democratic of all.

Having spent some time looking over both candidates' voting record, constituency campaigning, and attended the 'webinar' to hear both speak - Beth is the overwhelming superior option. It would be a great loss to the UK Labour party were she to not win this seat!
