Let’s talk more about this piece of mine

- A work that’s been minted and listed for a while now, but one that carries a story worth revisiting.

- It’s a scene that’s both timeless and timely, absurd yet profound, and like much of my art, it’s layered with symbolism, humor, and a touch of cosmic swagger. So, let’s dive into it.

- Picture this: a dragon, majestic, wise, and maybe just a little full of himself, lounges in a throne-like chair, draped in robes adorned with cosmic motifs.

- These aren’t just any patterns; they suggest his long, winding journey through time, as if he’s been stitched into the universe itself.

- Across from him, a serpent kneels, dressed in vibrant golden robes that shimmer with the promise of renewal and transformation.

- They’re locked in conversation, a moment suspended between the weight of experience and the lightness of possibility. And what binds them? A shared hookah, its smoke curling lazily between them, carrying whispers of wisdom, stories, and perhaps a few unsolicited pieces of advice.

- The Characters and Their Story
The dragon isn’t just any dragon, he’s the spirit of the past year, 2024, the Year of the Dragon.

- He’s seen it all: wars raging, economies crumbling, fates twisting in unexpected directions. He’s weathered the storms, and now, as the Year of the Serpent, 2025, slithers onto the scene, he’s taken it upon himself to pass on what he’s learned.

- Whether the serpent wants this guidance or not is beside the point; the dragon, with his gruff experience and old-school charm, delivers it anyway. He’s the streetwise elder, blending wit with truth, his words dripping with the kind of swagger only time can earn.

- The serpent, meanwhile, is a creature of renewal, of shedding old skins and stepping into the new.

- His golden robes hint at his readiness for what’s next, but there’s a humility in his kneeling posture. He’s not just a symbol, he’s a personality, ambitious and perhaps a little impatient, yet willing to listen, at least for now. The past year has spoken, and the new one listens.

- The Hookah: A Bridge Between Generations
That hookah they’re sharing? It’s more than a quirky detail.

- It’s a conduit between generations, a symbol as old as storytelling itself. The smoke drifting between them is thick with history, softening the edges of hard-earned lessons and making the wisdom a little easier to take in.

- It’s a pause, a moment of reflection before the next chapter begins, a way for the dragon to pass on tales of triumph and disaster, of cycles that repeat whether we’re ready for them or not.

- Contrast and Continuity
What I love about this piece is how it plays with **contrast** and **continuity**. There’s the shift from one year to another, from the weight of experience to the freshness of youth, from crisis to adaptation.

The dragon and the serpent are opposites in so many ways: one rooted in what has been, the other poised for what will be. Yet, there’s a thread that ties them together. Wisdom flows from the past to the future, reminding us that history doesn’t just stop, it informs, it shapes, it keeps spinning.

- The Playful and the Profound
As with all my works, there’s humor woven into the mythology here. This isn’t some dry, lofty scene, the dragon’s got a bit of an ego, the serpent’s got attitude, and they’re smoking a hookah like it’s the most natural thing in the world.

- They’re not just symbols; they’re personalities. They gesture, they exist in a moment that feels oddly familiar despite the fantastical setting. It’s playful, sure, but it’s also deep, a reflection of life’s absurdity and beauty.

- A Slice of Life, Dragon-Style
In the end, this piece is about something we all know: the passing of time, the handing down of knowledge, the dance between generations. 👇
