@LukeDCA @Blockstream Two recovery phrases give you two of the three public keys. The descriptor holds all three, plus how they fit together. If Jade or your coordinator has the multisig registered, you’re already spending with it. Lose every copy and two phrases can’t rebuild the wallet.

The descriptor file is what stops most people from trying multisig.

It lists every signer's public key and the wallet's rules. Lose it and two of three recovery phrases won't let you spend. @Blockstream Jade stores it on device, making more advanced self-custody easier and safer.

Two different setups here. The video shows a multisig you build in a coordinator app and register on Jade, which then stores the descriptor.

A 2-of-3 account in the Blockstream app is a 2FA Protected account, with one of the keys held by Blockstream. garecovery lets you spend with your two keys without us. Descriptor export is a fair request, and we’ve passed it on.

@BlockstreamApp (formerly green wallet) has multisig 2fa feature. if you were using a HWW which turned out to have a hardware bug, using @blockstream wallet (and turn on 2fa eg google auth), you would have a last line of defense: the seed alone does not allow theft of funds.
