MAME 0.262 represents the latest research into Sega’s nearly unheard-of-in-the-west “AI Computer”, hailing from the late ’80s.
Omar Cornut put a Herculean effort into tracking down info about it, which was pivotal when emulating it: https://t.co/mQPUjUkqZl
Show him some love!

MAME 0.262 has been released, with arcade LaserDisc games, Casio synthesisers, hand-held brick games, Shamisen Brothers, the obscure Sega AI computer, and much more!

There's actually a terminal debugger in Shamisen Brothers. It's always running in the background. You need to unlock it first by sending the command "4g63" or else it won't respond to any commands. I tried out some commands I could find easily in the code.
A pull request to promote Thayer's Quest to working in MAME is now up.
The voice synthesis isn't great since I'm redirecting the SSI-263/SC-02's phonemes onto MAME's Votrax SC-01 emulation, but it's intelligible, and the comedy of Thayer's natural-1 luck makes up for it.
I apologize for my premature celebration in saying that there's only one signal dropout after the 4-disc stack of Thayer's Quest (arcade).
Turns out, the blue spike I was seeing was the current-frame cursor overlaid on the graph.
There are actually zero dropouts. NONE.
Dragon's Lair in MAME. Some issues with frame seeking, and I desperately need to get a deinterlacer implemented for January's release, but hey!
Won't call it "working" yet until I've been able to clear every scene, but that'll happen before the end of the month.

@a2_4am Not sure if you used MAME for the screengrab, but we used it in our release post for MAME 0.244 on Instagram since it was added this cycle, hope you don't mind 😉 https://t.co/kWU4W8Zovu
