In the not too distant future, the politicians and editors and news producers will be parroting, for the rest of their pitiful careers, ‘The legal advice we received at the time’, to juries, to government committees, to the parents and the children of the murdered.#GazaGenocide
yes, for a long time. a highly educated, prosperous country with a booming economy in which the "American dream" was not a cruel joke as it has become now.
all of the world gazed with wonder at our privately owned houses, well-stocked grocery & department stores, automobiles, highways, education---plus our democratic government--is this really forgotten?
under Eisenhower, wealthy persons paid quite high taxes, seemingly without complaint; now, they pay very little, or none. (& Eisenhower was a Republican.). an average man with an average salary could support an entire family living in their own house.
sounds like a myth but wasn't that long ago.
The BBC has inflicted a devastating blow to its own credibility by its coverage of Israel/Palestine and in particular Israeli apartheid, ethnic cleansing, war crimes and GENOCIDE
The bias towards Israel has been obvious to most British people
Shameful and disastrous for the BBC
"When Trump insisted the war would only end with "unconditional surrender" it never crossed my mind he meant his own".
That's because you are stupid, Andrew. We knew how it would end.
THREAD FIVE of CALLING OUT PROPAGANDA (numbers 44 to 49)
CALLING OUT PROPAGANDA No.44
MANUFACTURING CONSENT.
FOURTH FILTER – FLAK
“Manufacturing Consent” describes how media outlets are bombarded with “flak” if they publish stories which certain powerful interests do not like. Often this leads to the media self-censoring to avoid flak.
“Flak” can include letters, emails, petitions, phone calls, contacting regulators, threatening litigation, a digital pile on, doxxing, protests etc. Only a powerful interest can do this at scale.
When The New York Times published an article by Nicholas Kristof in May 2026 entitled “The Silence that Meets the Rape of Palestinians”, it was met with a tsunami of flak. So far, the paper has stood firm.
Kristof’s article detailed widespread sexual abuse against Palestinians, especially those held in Israeli custody. He alleged that this sexual abuse included rapes by dogs trained to rape.
Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu, said The New York Times had published "one of the most hideous and distorted lies ever published against Israel in the modern press" and that he had ordered libel proceedings.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry called the article "Hamas propaganda" and "a blood libel”. They alleged that Kristof was "part of a false and well-orchestrated anti-Israel campaign.”
There was a noisy protest outside the paper calling for the retraction of the article and for Kristof to be fired.
The New York Times published this statement.
“The Israeli Prime Minister has threatened to file a libel lawsuit against [the paper] regarding Nicholas Kristof's … column on sexual abuse by Israel's prison guards, soldiers, settlers and interrogators. This threat … is part of a well-worn political playbook that aims to undermine independent reporting and stifle journalism that does not fit a specific narrative.”
This statement contains a good definition of flak: a well-worn playbook that aims to stifle journalism that does not fit a specific narrative.
Former UK ambassador Craig Murray, an expert in maritime law, says the UK has engaged in a blatant act of piracy – and a self-sabotaging one at that – in seizing a ship passing through the Strait of Dover.
He adds: "It is astonishing that at this moment, when navigation of the Strait of Hormuz is arguably the single most live question in all of international politics, the UK has decided to abandon the principle of free transit through straits.
"It takes hypocrisy to an entire new level – it truly beggars belief – that the day after closing the Dover Strait to Russian shipping, Starmer issued a joint statement with Germany, France and Italy insisting on 'Freedom of Navigation' in the strait of Hormuz."

Bill Kristol: "Trump’s cage fight at the White House was despicable on so many levels: taxpayer money being spent to glorify him, the corruption and kickbacks surrounding the fight, and the Saudis underwriting a White House event, even though they share none of our traditions or values.
In upholding the proscription of Palestine Action, Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr showed she was historically illiterate.
Contrary to her claims, the Sufragettes were neither a peaceful civil disobedience group nor did they operate "transparently in the open".
Their hundreds of bombing and arson attacks are known to have injured at least two dozen people, many of them postal workers, left with severe burns.
Their bomb and arson squads organised this violence through underground cells. Leaders were kept in a network of safe houses to avoid discovery by police. And leader Emmeline Pankhurst used body doubles and assumed names to evade police capture.
There's even a 2015 Hollywood movie, Sufragette, showing all this. This sudden level of ignorance by our political and judicial class is entirely manufactured.
The Sufragette movement was far, far more violent and clandestine than anything Palestine Action has been doing.
That's not an argument against the Suffragettes. It's argument exposing the utter hypocrisy of the politicians, judges and media peddling lies to justify crushing an organisation trying to expose UK government complicity in Israel's genocide.
3 of the 4 people didn’t attack the police officer and all of the 4 were cleared of violent intent. So the only disgrace here is the lie you’re telling to justify a clear miscarriage of justice & the use of anti-terror laws to justify your government’s complicity in a genocide.
The judge who just sentenced Palestine activists as terrorists was previously paid to represent the interests of MI6 and the Ministry of Defence.

I faced massive official harassment when I gave a talk on Palestine at Leeds University approximately 6 years ago.
University officials on the door insisted on taking the names of every student who attended, leading many overseas students to walk away.
The female Palestinian student who had organised the meeting was so intimidated she did not come.
Peter Murrell: pleads guilty to embezzlement, gets legal aid & the opportunity to pay his loot back.
Alex Salmond: found innocent, paid his own fees, died near impoverished.
This is why we *cannot* let this go. The soul of our nation is at stake. They *must not win.*

🗣️ “Sturgeon bemoans that she feels as if she is serving a sentence for a crime she did not commit... Now she knows what the late Alex Salmond had to endure… for the last years of his life”
Just as a reminder, Lord Mann - the government's Theresa May appointed 'independent' advisor on antisemitism was the one who ambushed Ken Livingstone, complete with film crew in tow, to attack him for making historically accurate statements about the Haavara (Transfer) Agreement of 1933 between Nazi Germany and Zionist organizations, which facilitated the emigration of tens of thousands of German Jews to Palestine

again, just saying, it's a desperate race to the midterms before the "social net" collapses entirely. so far we have managed not to have a catastrophe despite a Secretary of Health & Welfare who is both anti-science & deeply weird in his unique way & a FBI director who could not begin to deal with a genuine national emergency let alone well-orchestrated terrorist attacks like 9/11; not to mention a "chief executive" obsessed with vanity projects & indifferent to lives of US soldiers involved in a vanity war, a deteriorating "leader" ranting, raving, muttering to himself, joking & giggling to himself, who, if he were not T***p, would have been relieved of duties months ago & receiving proper medical care.
@JoyceCarolOates Yes Madam, this is an exactly correct perspective.
For all intents and purposes U.S. democracy will live or die with the mid-terms and anyone with, "eyes to see" is acutely aware of this. This is the last tree branch to grab so to speak,..before Niagra Falls.
Godspeed
