We Almost Built a Philosophical Zombie

Our original idea was to build a Cognitive Conversation Log—a system based on the RWKV architecture that could extract emotional vectors, topic transitions, reasoning patterns, and value orientations from conversations.
Then, on January 30, 2025, everything changed.
At this philosophy lecture, we were introduced to the thought experiment of the Philosophical Zombie: a being that behaves exactly like a conscious human, yet possesses no subjective experience.
A question raised during that lecture made us realize there might be a fundamental flaw in what we were building.
The realization was significant enough that we paused the project for several weeks to reassess both our objectives and our approach.
