Very happy and proud of our student Ms Samarpita Dash, PhD Scholar, School of Mass Communication, KIIT Deemed to be University, for receiving the Odisha State Film Award as Best Actress (Jury) for the film Ae Akasha Tale.
It is a happy moment for the entire KIIT family to see our student being recognised in Odia cinema. At KIIT, we always try to give our students opportunities in every field, so that they can discover their talent and move forward with confidence. This is the beauty of KIIT.
My heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Samarpita. May she continue to make KIIT and Odisha proud.
It was an honour to welcome H.E. Mrs. Maya Tissafi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to India and Bhutan, to KIIT & KISS.
She spent time on our campus, interacted warmly with our KISS children and closely observed the model through which education, care and opportunity are brought together for tribal students. She appreciated the effort being made to empower children from underprivileged backgrounds and was happy to see their confidence & discipline.
Ambassador Tissafi has had a distinguished diplomatic career, serving Switzerland in important international roles. Her visit and thoughtful interaction with our students were encouraging for our entire KIIT and KISS family. I remain grateful for her time and interest in our work.
It was good to meet Ms. Tapsi Upadhyay (@tapsiupadhyay9), popularly known as “BTech Paani Puri Wali”, at KIIT & KISS during her Sampoorna Bharat Yatra on a Bullet bike. At a young age, she has taken up the responsibility of travelling across the country to spread awareness about an Obesity Mukt, Swasth Bharat.
She is visiting universities and colleges, encouraging students to adopt healthy habits, balanced food and regular fitness in their daily lives. Her effort reflects the larger vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for a healthier and stronger India.
Health is the foundation of progress. I appreciate her commitment and wish her strength and safety as she continues this meaningful journey across the nation.
This morning, I visited the venue to review the preparations for the upcoming FIVB World Beach Volleyball Championship 2026 at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
For the first time in India, a Beach Volleyball World Championship is being hosted inside a university campus. The championship will bring together 52 countries, 82 teams and 164 international athletes, with over 300 accredited participants coming to KIIT. It is truly a proud moment for all of us.
I sincerely thank the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and its President, Hon’ble Mr. Fabio Azevedo, for giving us the opportunity to host this prestigious Beach Volleyball Championship in Odisha.
Whenever we host the world, I feel personally responsible to see every arrangement with care and attention. Our teams are working with dedication and discipline, and I am confident we will present a championship that makes Odisha and our country proud.
My best wishes to everyone involved.

These recognitions strengthen our commitment to continue working for the educational and social upliftment of tribal communities with sincerity and responsibility.
On National Science Day, I pay my respects to Sir C. V. Raman, whose discovery of the Raman Effect on 28th February 1928 brought pride to India. Science teaches curiosity, discipline and clear thinking. Let us encourage our young minds to innovate and use knowledge for the service of society.
We are proud of our alumna Jyotirmayee Nayak (https://t.co/P38EWgTaN0 CSE, 2023), who has reached the Top 10 of Indian Idol. It is a happy moment for our entire KIIT family to see one of our students standing confidently on a national stage.
In this video, Jyotirmayee is appealing for your support. I request all members of the KIIT, KISS and KIMS family to stand with her at this important stage of her journey. Your vote and encouragement will give her strength.
Let us support her wholeheartedly.
The courts are ready. The sand is set. From the 4th onwards, the FIVB World Beach Volleyball Championship 2026 begins at KIIT University.
For the first time in India, a Beach Volleyball World Championship is being hosted inside a university campus. Our Dutee Chand Athletics Stadium has been transformed and is fully prepared to welcome players from across the world. The teams have already started arriving, and the excitement is building with every passing day.
When we bring the world to Odisha, we do it with care, discipline and responsibility. My best wishes to all the athletes, officials and our dedicated teams who are working tirelessly to make this championship memorable.
Koraput coffee has always had a special place in the hearts of Odias. Its aroma and taste carry the freshness of our hills. On my one-day visit to Koraput, I enjoyed a simple cup of this beautiful coffee, grown by our own tribal farmers with care and dedication.
Koraput is blessed with natural beauty —rolling hills, waterfalls, dense forests and rich tribal culture. From Deomali, the highest peak of Odisha, to Duduma waterfall and the calm surroundings of Kolab, the district reflects both serenity and strength. Tourism here is not only about scenery; it is about people, tradition and a simple way of life.
Whenever I come to Koraput, I feel connected to its soil and its people. It reminds me how rich our state is —not only in resources, but in culture, hard work and dignity.
Every year, before Holi, our 40,000 KISS children celebrate together on the campus with so much excitement. For many of them, this is a day they truly wait for. The colours, the songs, the laughter — everything fills the campus with life.
This year too, some well-known faces from Odia cinema came to be with the children. They danced, they smiled, and they spent time with them like family. Most of these children come from very simple backgrounds. When I watch them celebrate freely and happily, I feel content.
Their happiness is my happiness.
Warm greetings to everyone on the occasion of Holi.
This beautiful festival reminds us to spread happiness, forgive differences and bring colours of love, harmony and togetherness into our lives. May this Holi fill every home with peace, good health and joy.
Spent time with 32 delegates from Japan who have been visiting KIIT and KISS for the past week. They joined our students in celebrating the colourful festival of Holi on the campus and enjoyed the spirit of the occasion with great warmth.
Happy to see them celebrating together with our students. Such simple moments make the campus lively and bring people closer.
Once again, I wish a Happy Holi to all students, staff, alumni and well-wishers of the KIIT, KISS and KIMS family.

Spent some time this evening at the FIVB Beach Pro Tour Challenge 2026 at KIIT, watching the matches and meeting the players. It was also a pleasure to welcome Mr. Qin Yong, Deputy Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kolkata, who came to encourage the Chinese players participating in the tournament.
Players from many countries are competing here, and the energy on the court is wonderful to watch. I also felicitated the winners of today’s matches. It felt nice to sit with the athletes and see their effort and dedication from close.
I am also happy to know that the players and officials participating in the championship are pleased with the arrangements and facilities provided at KIIT.
Watching athletes from over 52 countries competing on the sand courts at @KIITUniversity gives me immense happiness. Grateful to FIVB for giving us this opportunity to host the FIVB Beach Pro Tour Challenge 2026. #BeachVolleyballAtKIIT
Happy to see the 9th edition of KIITFest 2026 being held on our campus with great enthusiasm. This techno-cultural festival, organised by students for students, has grown into one of the largest student festivals in eastern India, bringing together thousands of students from KIIT and participants from reputed institutes across the country.
KIITFest has always been a platform where young minds expressed their creativity, innovation and talent beyond the classroom. Over the past two days, students took part in a wide range of events including technical competitions, cultural performances, debates, music, dance, art, literature, fashion and entrepreneurship activities.
I was especially happy to see the spirit of participation and the collective effort of our organising student societies who led these activities with dedication.
My good wishes to all the students who took part in KIITFest 2026. I hope these days have been filled with learning, friendship and joyful memories.
This evening at the FIVB Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge 2026 at KIIT, I spent some time watching the semi-final match between two teams from the USA and later felicitated the finalists.
This championship at KIIT has brought together 83 teams from 52 countries, with over 300 players and officials present on our campus, and I am very happy to learn that many of them have appreciated the arrangements and facilities made here for this championship and felt comfortable throughout their stay.
I also thanked and encouraged our more than 200 volunteers from KISS who have been working quietly with great dedication. My appreciation to the KISS cultural team as well, who have added joy to the evenings and made the experience memorable for the participants beyond the volleyball matches.
