If what is being done in Lagos were replicated in all 36 states of Nigeria, we won't be here today. Ordinary BRT so many states do not have. What is stopping your governors from giving you BRT ?
🚨 Kylian Mbappé replies to rumors about him being unhappy with Real Madrid for not campaigning his Ballon d’Or.
“Yes, yes… I even got angry with my great aunt too!”, Mbappé posted on Instagram.
I am deeply saddened by the tragic crash of the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft near Igbokoda in Ondo State, carrying 25 passengers and seven crew members. Who are now presumably killed.
My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of everyone aboard this aircraft, and to the officers and personnel of the @NigeriaAirforce affected by this terrible tragedy.
Beyond the tragedy itself, however, I am deeply concerned by what we have seen from the crash site. The videos and images emerging from the area raise serious questions about Nigeria’s emergency preparedness and our capacity to respond rapidly and effectively to major disasters.
At a moment when every second matters, a country of more than 200 million people should have properly equipped, highly trained and rapidly deployable emergency-response teams capable of reaching difficult terrain with the equipment required for search, rescue and recovery.
There must be a thorough and transparent investigation into what caused this crash. But we must also investigate the emergency response viz how quickly help arrived, what equipment was available, what obstacles responders encountered, and whether lives could have been saved with a better prepared system.
A disaster is tragic. Being unprepared to respond to one makes the tragedy even more painful.
My thoughts remain with everyone aboard the aircraft, their families and the communities affected by this devastating incident.
Tragic news 💔
A military aircraft has cr@shed in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Nigerian Air Force confirmed that an aircraft cr@shed in the area while on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos.
Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing
UPDATE: All the 32 people on board a Nigerian military aircraft that crashed in Ondo State have died, according to security sources. The aircraft was carrying passengers and crew members when it crashed. May their souls rest in peace!
The helicopter must have hit the ground at extreme speed on very soft soil.
When that happens, the heavy parts sink deep into the mud and the whole ground closes back over it, while the lighter parts shatter. That is why it looks like it vanished.
No major parts of the plane have been found, leaving the fate of the passengers unknown.
Heartbreaking and unfortunate situation 💔😭
@grok what do you think might have happened?
