🦵🏽EECP for improve cerebral vasodilatory reserve (on SPECT) in ICAD patient
1hr/d, 5 times/week
122 randomized patients, 58y, 61%males
✅EECP was associated with significant improvement in hemodynamic parameters
Excellent talk by Dr. Jae Song at #ISC25 on value added by vessel wall imaging in differentiating between cerebral vasculitis and other non-inflammatory vasculopathies
#STROKE: Adjunct emergent stenting for patients with underlying intracranial stenosis is associated with better functional outcome without a significantly increased risk of symptomatic hemorrhage – being presented today at #SVIN24. #AHAJournals

Challenging distal M1 occlusion w ICAD & tortuous vasculature. Achieved first-pass recanalization w Supernova 4x43mm stent retriever (optimized for ICAD) & Neutron 070 aspiration catheter. Courtesy of Dr. Wittawat Takong, Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, Thailand.
Today, on 29th October, #WorldStrokeDay, let us prioritize awareness and education NOT just for 1 day, But Each and Every Day for 365 days.
Stroke can strike anyone, anywhere, at any time.
Recognizing the signs and knowing how to act can drastically improve recovery.

A miniaturized, snake-like OCT imaging probe navigates and illuminates the labyrinth of cerebral arteries with high resolution, offering a diagnostic tool to guide #endovascular interventions for #stroke and other conditions. @RADIS_lab@SmhNeuroVasc https://t.co/392mTQjtbR
We now have multiple #stroke RCTs (ACT🇨🇦, TRACE-2 🇨🇳, ATTEST-2 🇬🇧, TIMELESS🇺🇸) showing the rate of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage with tPA or TNK is ~3%
Time to move away from the previously quote ~6% from the old RCTs. A likely result of better patient selection and CTA (+/- CTP) imaging

In the ATTICUS trial, among pts w/ embolic stroke of undetermined source and cardioembolic risk factors, apixaban was not superior to aspirin in preventing new ischemic lesions on MRI and was comparable in rates of clinically relevant bleeding. https://t.co/l3OMFcRTQF
