This week I received a wonderful scrapbook of well wishes from colleagues I’ve worked with for the last two decades. Today, I’ve added emails, texts, cards and well wishes from patients and families. Thank you PCD & Respiratory, its been a blast 🥰
And on to my next adventure 😁
@juliaisobela Life-changing. I used to resent that I'd work long hours and be responsible for all the tidying and cleaning. Now we all tidy the morning our lovely cleaner comes, they work their magic and we come home to sparkly taps, no limescale, clean carpets and a wonderful smelling house.
@MartinSLewis Batchelor of Nursing graduated 2003, Southampton Uni. No loan, NHS bursary. Mother to three kids under 5yrs, so it was tough physically, emotionally and financially.
I love doing what I do, so yes, it was worth it.
Would I do it in today’s climate? Certainly not.
This #AskAboutAsthma week, make sure your child has an asthma action plan.
You can ask your GP or Nurse to provide you with one, or download free from the @asthmalunguk website!
Chickenpox is common. Usually it is just unpleasant, but it can be severe or life threatening.
A long established vaccine to prevent it will be offered to all children rather than only those who can pay.
Immunity by vaccination is safer than by infection.

@julie_trudgill@BladeoftheS To be fair, I wasn't speaking about Tesco specifically but about retail and service industry jobs generally. Both personally and professionally, I see many single young people and parents of young families exploited by zero-hour contracts. It makes me sad to see them struggle.
@julie_trudgill@BladeoftheS It is cheaper. They devalue the workforce allowing managers to manipulate staff & treat them badly, offer no security and keep poor people poor and reliant on benefits. The flexibility argument works for students (maybe) but almost everyone needs a regular and known income.
@julie_trudgill@BladeoftheS If they get a choice. Many working in supermarket/service industry jobs are on zero hour/part time contracts as they are cheaper for the employer. Its often difficult to get full time hours and even then families may still qualify for UC. Not lazy, not greedy, just surviving.
In recognition of PCD Awareness Month, BEAT-PCD and @PCD_UK will host a webinar on patient collaboration in PCD research. Watch for registration details soon, and mark your planner. More info is available on our website: https://t.co/zDpZpogDli
🚨 NEW: The full list of the 108 Labour MPs who have signed the reasoned amendment to the welfare reform Bill in an attempt to block it completely
It marks one of the biggest rebellions against the Government so far, with the Bill’s first vote due next week
@KBGreyhoundlady@jessicaelgot ‘People like that’? Young, disabled folk claiming PIP? Human beings are multifaceted. Our worth isn’t tied to paid work. I worry about the casual othering of those not like us on social media. Does this fit within established British values of Democracy, Law, Liberty and Respect?
@KBGreyhoundlady@jessicaelgot I responded to ‘the usual suspects’ jibe suggesting opposing cuts were wrong. With ‘stress and anxiety’ I took the inverted commas to mean you didn't believe YP were genuine. You thought it ‘boring’ when reminded PIP is not an out of work benefit. I thought an example might help.
@KBGreyhoundlady@jessicaelgot Hi Karen, my son has cerebral palsy, works PT and graduates next week with a good law degree thanks to PIP support. He is disabled, not lazy or workshy. Without PIP, he may not have graduated. PIP saves lives, offers hope, opportunity, confidence and ultimately a richer society.
Myeloperoxidase is a green protein contained in neutrophils. So if the sputum is green, patients have a lot of inflammation and are at high risk of exacerbation
Simple and clinically useful!

@elonmusk@realDonaldTrump Wait, you knew this and heralded him as the greatest thing since sliced bread? Mr Musk, what does this say about you? I'm so confused. Which you is the genuine you?
