I just had to unfollow the human experiment with millions of dollars who has…. AIG, and is acting like it’s the end of the world and that his persecution by the online crowd he lives to hear from is like the persecution of Jesus.
Might as well call it Trumpcare now.
Our party has made no serious effort to repeal Obamacare and legalize affordable health insurance after taking control of the House, Senate & White House.
Why? Because the current system enriches insurance and hospital companies.
@sj_ca1867@tylerblack32@DrDiGiorgio Medical tourism out of the US is mostly for cosmetic/dental care. Notice ‘unapproved’ procedures. I’m sure they are evidenced based stem cell infusions, right? Medical tourism to the US is for complex, high-acuity, or specialized care.
Maybe unpopular but every single GLp-1 request for the Medicare bridge program I deny and when patients call I tell them to wait until third week of July. Any new program the government puts out is a disaster so I am not dealing with the kinks up front, sorry not sorry.
I spent 25 min on doctronic faking a routine patient scenario. Aside from all of the fake empathy, it did nothing amazing but it did reply to everything I threw at it from hydrogen water, peptides, carnivore diet, methylation testing, cortisol testing without getting exasperated so it can take a beating.
Epic initiates AI for workflows.
Each task generated requires physician to approve because, you know, can’t sue Epic for improper decision making plus we need to add more hard stops for the doctors. Speaking of.. anyone ever talk to the docs at doctronic who get $39 for PC visits?
@mattpavelle@doctronic I use @Rupa_Health for my cash pay and high deductible plan patients. Lab draws can occur at your home for a small fee or a Quest lab. Easily >$50for the tests you mentioned
@pgipe Would be nice but seems the lowest common denominator sets the rules. I worked at the VA for a while and most things that took up my time were due to someone having messed up somewhere in the past and so they created a rule for it. It all just pisses me off now.
ICD-10 code Y93.69 : Injury while playing Gaelic rules football is also the same code for Australian rules football. They are not the same sport! Who is in charge of this nonsense? 😏
A new grad or someone new to private practice may not know. This was another feature of the ACA. I went to a government job when it was passed in 2010. I went back to private practice 5 years later and was not aware of the billing issue until this happened with a patient. I was just as upset as the patient because it’s the dumbest thing I had ever seen. Also some offices use coders that charge out the claims by reviewing notes for codes. Not trying to justify the practice, just saying it’s quite possible the doc didn’t intend for you to get billed.
@tylerblack32 Nor is he aware of the US medical system apparently. PC addresses way more mental health by volume than psychiatry based on availability and patient’s preferences.
@WarUnicorn@PollySpin Your insurance decided that, not your doctor. The annual physical is a joke. Your insurance only pays for one to make you think they care about your health but if you have an actual problem, they don’t want to pay for it.
@CoffeeBlackMD@BowTiedPhys I do two 5 mile rucks per week and added 25 push ups every mile with my 35 pound ruck on. I no longer bench press as I don’t see the need (I’m not going for size just function and tone at my age).
@awgaffney I pass two ‘spas’ on my way to my primary care office run by FNPs giving IV hydration thereapy, peptides and botox making 3x what I do taking care of Medicare/medicaid. People pay for things they don’t need but don’t want to pay for things they do 🤷♂️
Travel internationally one time per quarter, max. That's what I'd suggest after extensively measuring my biomarkers while traveling to China, India, and Australia. It's a real biological insult. One trip requires weeks to fully recover.
In the late 1990s during med school I recall a talk on anti-angiogenesis therapy that cured cancer in mice and were going to be all the rage for humans.
Something, something… peptides, Midjourney, ‘insert your hypotheses yet to be proven that doctors are afraid of’
