yes! i often tell students (& often around other edu staff): "teaching is a service position, and it's our job to lead by serving. check those egos at the door." this attitude resonates with STs esp re: inevitable behaviour mgmt-- makes a difference
@schug_dennis@edutopia quite love the phrasing of your numbered list. could i print a copy to post up, attributed to you with proper byline? know it'd be helpful to others to see it as we kick off another year :)
so much this. creating that trust with our students yields the biggest ROI of all-- teachers just have to make that initial deposit in earnest #teacherlife#mixedmetaphors
@edutopia Students won’t care about your rules and what you know until they know how much you care. Spend time building relationships and getting to know about your students—their interests, their abilities and needs, and their aspirations. Only then will they be invested in you.
Students really do go bananas for the daily attendance question-- gets 'em every time. Well done then, teachers; keep providing space for those brilliant minds to shine
when, to travis, angie said, "i guess i was just your seed round," i felt that. girl, *your* series b is ready and waiting to appreciate, develop, & evolve with you #superpumped#wordnerd🤓
i'm sorry but jamie lee curtis holding a dog on stage during the in memoriam for betty white right after will smith punched chris rock is a 30 rock sketch
We get it. No one knows what to say at wakes or funerals, but dammit please save your new medication's gaseous side effects at least until *after* you've exhausted your golfing stories @phredmund
we wanted to honour this year's teachers with a rendition of 'Hero' and then to our great surprise and delight, @MariahCarey popped in to help out... #DearClassof2020
