It's bloody Christmas and you're making me tweet about this:
No sex worker or sex worker led org uses the term "prostituted woman".
They have told people such as yourself countless times to stop, for goodness sake.
Anyway, everyone else enjoy your mince pies or what have you.
When I speak to sex workers about what makes women join the industry, the answer often is: the benefit system.
Universal Credit is very low, sanctions are extremely punitive and many migrants can’t access benefits at all.
To protect women, we need real social security for all.
No one should be pushed into sex work by poverty. But that’s the reality for many women in a cost of living crisis.
Criminalisation makes the industry more dangerous and harder to leave.
The solution is to fully decriminalise it + tackle the root causes.

We were really pleased to be able to contribute to this important reporting by Channel 4 News - we’re the only sex worker-led campaign responding to the cost of living crisis, and we know that our demands of government will protect sex workers from danger and harm.

@jk_rowling I'm not a bearded man, I hope I may have a say...when I have shown a scintilla of support or just compassion to trans women here, I was retweeted and then buried under dehumanising hatred. You know what that feels like x 1000. We need to stop doing this to each other. All of us.
Feminism isn't believing men are inherently violent. That's biological essentialism. The problem is patriarchy and you won't tackle that without realising it affects men too.
When an abusive man is enabled and forgiven by the people around him, the only message you are giving ~all~ the women you know is that support, if they are ever abused themselves, is entirely conditional.
We are women who do not believe trans people threaten women's rights. Our feminism's aims are reproductive freedom, an end to gender based violence, economic equality, bodily autonomy and freedom from oppression for all people
In answer to my question #NadineDorries said she thought 96% of the 56,293 respondents in her public consultation supported privatisation. She was wrong. The opposite is the case - as I explained to her. 96% of those her department surveyed opposed privatisation.
the rwanda plan, as laid out, was one that will see those making the journey across the channel to claim asylum 'processed' in rwanda.
they are not "illegal migrants", they are asylum seekers, protected as such under the UN refugee convention, of which the UK is a signatory.
“Well, we’ve listened to the legal analysis of the UK’s former top lawyer, so, for balance, it’s only right that we now turn to the opinion of a children’s author”
One year ago today, the police waited until sunset to brutalise us at Clapham Common. Today, we waited until sunset to detonate 1000 rape alarms at Charing Cross station. #BecomeUngovernable
