@kireth@falabezao@GamersNexus@LinusTech I hope they address this properly, especially the auctioning. I enjoy LTT and I find it sad that its been declining so badly recently. Watching the WAN show has for me become more about watching how Linus/Luke deals with controversy so differently, and I respect Luke a lot.
@kireth@falabezao@GamersNexus@LinusTech I don't think GN is saying that - I think its more about how LTT has been harping on so much about how Labs will make the data in the videos great while the QC of said videos have become so poor that it can mislead viewers - and since LTT is so big, most people will trust them.
@eyebrows360@kireth@GamersNexus@LinusTech He does have a point though where 99% of the population is unaware of K as a scale, so it would be best to just drop percentages altogether.
@kireth@falabezao@GamersNexus@LinusTech I think by nature Steve's content attracts more of the geeky types than the general consumer, and as a result gets the most "but actually..." critiques 🤣
@kireth@falabezao@GamersNexus@LinusTech Just advertise a 10°C temp drop, the people who buy a PC would be more appreciative of it being said like that anyways.
@kireth@falabezao@GamersNexus@LinusTech I have a degree in chemistry and while Steve is saying is scientifically the most correct, I think you're right that it does downplay a 10°C temp drop.
However percentages should never be used for temperature marketing as it is easily manipulated by the scale.
@falabezao@kireth@GamersNexus@LinusTech GN is American and they still use °C. Also you lot clearly don't read the tweet I was replying to which said that GN measured temps in Kelvin (which is not Fahrenheit either)
@kireth@GamersNexus@LinusTech I'm not saying that because one is screwing up the other doesn't, I'm just saying Steve's points are valid. As a whole, LTT's video quality has been slipping one way or another.
Also I just watched the R15 review and all values were in °C?
@kireth@GamersNexus@LinusTech What's the point of being first when the data is wrong? I watch more LTT than GN (subbed to Floatplane and watch the WAN Show) and yet I agree with nearly all of GN's points. Also selling stuff that isn't yours is just 100% a dick move
@Forty_Too If I was a competitor who's scared of LTT, I wouldn't be going out of my way to tell both the then-CEO and CTO of the company that their channel was hacked
@parkeg1 Yes but that means it will be correct only for that family of train, not the rest of the fleet. Doing that means that when other trains stop there, you'll have to have a step *up* to the platform.
@notmugcup As an aside, would you consider people who buy premium at reduced prices with a VPN still piracy? Cause the difference between $100+ a year in the US and ≈$15 in Turkey is a lot.
This whole issue is very strange, and no competition make it worse. I also happily pay for Nebula.
@notmugcup I don't even use AdBlock myself, and I watch YT with ads enabled precisely because I support creators. However, Premium is very expensive, and I am prepared to watch the ads, but I can understand why people won't. Plus only Google has the power to change their terms.
