DU में जो रुचि तिवारी के साथ हुआ, वह वामपंथी-अम्बेडकरवादी छात्र पार्टियों के कारण हुआ, ऐसा मानना मूर्खता है। घटना का सतही कारण तो अवश्य ही ऐसी पार्टियों के छात्र नेता हैं, पर जड़ में क्या है?

जड़ में जातिवादी तुष्टिकरण और ब्राह्मण घृणा के नारों का सामान्यीकरण है। मोदी सरकार की उपलब्धि यही है कि अब भीमवादी खुल्ला घूम रहे हैं। कल तक जो दीवारों पर ‘ब्राह्मण बनिया कैम्पस छोड़ो’, ‘देयर विल बी ब्लड’, ‘ब्राह्मणों भारत छोड़ो’ लिखा करते थे, अब वह ‘ब्राह्मणों की कब्र खुदेगी’ के नारों से होते हुए, अब एक लड़की के कपड़े फाड़ने पर आ चुकी है क्योंकि उसका नाम ‘तिवारी’ है।

वामपंथी पार्टियों को अब हम नहीं कोसते क्योंकि हम जानते हैं उन्हें सशक्त करने वाले लोग सत्ता में हैं, जो ‘बँटेंगे तो कटेंगे’ का नकली नारा रैलियों में लगा कर एकता का स्वांग रचते हैं।

जेएनयू में हाल ही में कुछ छात्रों को रस्टिकेट किया गया, जो एक अच्छा उदाहरण है, पर आगे क्या? कैम्पस में एक छात्रा के कपड़े फाड़ने के प्रयास करने वाले को जेल होनी चाहिए।

आज रुचि तिवारी के पास कौन से विधिक विकल्प हैं? क्या वह कोर्ट में ‘जातिवादी घृणा’ का आधार बना सकती है? नहीं, क्योंकि वो जिस समाज से आती है, उसके पास ऐसा कोई विकल्प नहीं। उसे कोर्ट में यह बताना होगा कि उस पर हुए अपराध की जड़ में जातिवादी घृणा है, पर प्रतिवादी वकील कहेगा कि ब्राह्मणों के साथ कैसा जातिवाद?

यह विषाक्त वातावरण नरेन्द्र मोदी और भाजपा की ही देन है। नाम उसी का लिया जाएगा जो ई-रिक्शा से वंदे भारत तक हर उपलब्धि का क्रेडिट लेता है। यह क्रेडिट भी मोदी जी का ही है।
