Every successful visit runs on two things: a great navigator and a great driver.

In Laos 🇱🇦, Manithda Sithimolada — UNV’s Coordinator — somehow managed to steer me through 20+ meetings in just two days in Vientiane without losing her patience.

Boudsakone Phouthavong, UNDP’s Head Driver, made sure that, under the navigator’s instructions, we always moved from point A to point B smoothly, safely and on time

In 2016, @UNFPA was the first UN agency to adopt a strategy on volunteerism for SDGs.

But it’s at the country level that strategies translate into action. And it’s our UN country offices such as @UNFPALaoPDR that, in the end, empower volunteers to make a difference @dienekeita

Most of the time, @UNVolunteers get the job done and move on.

Sometimes, they stay on at the UN.
And yet sometimes—they marry each other.

Donating blood saves lives.

As part of #IVD2023 celebration, #UNVolunteers in Lao PDR joined UN partners & Volunteer Involved Organizations for #BloodDonation to support blood supply in the country. 40 units of blood were collected. #IfEveryoneDid.
