@vaishbhaskaran@_glnarayanan There are loads of us not living in "tech bubbles" who find it super hard too :) Don't know about tech bubble folks but those of us in older parts of Bengaluru suffer too. One just wants good connectivity, reliable efficient predictable transport, regardless of location👍
This has quietly been a miracle month in medicine.
In the last 5 weeks we’ve got news on:
- retatrutide, the triple agonist GLP-1 from Lilly, basically melting fat and body-wide inflammation at record levels
- RevMed’s new pancreatic cancer drug showing unprecedented abilities to extend life
- small trial of a one-and-done PCSK9 gene editing therapy for slashing LDL cholesterol
- Mayo’s AI-assisted radiology showing vastly improved cancer detection
- this new therapy for metastatic solid tumors
This stuff is at varying levels of evidence. Retatrutide is ~100% on its way, other stuff needs more clinical trial data. But put it together and we’re maybe on the verge of majorly reducing the mortality of heart disease and cancer, the two leading causes of death in America.
@vaishbhaskaran@_glnarayanan The point is that until then, it is valid to call it out as being in a "different city" because of the connectivity+ cost + time issue. A statement that comes out of exhaustion and way too much effort and friction to just catch a flight from the city.
@Mr_Vivekji@ShamikaRavi Logistics could be one. Cargo, warehousing , shipping, transportation, movers and packers industry? Hospitality? At the very least one more avenue to make an honest rupee during any spare hour for this gig work.
Asha Bhosle used to tease RD Burman, saying why he didn't give her the iconic song Jaane Kya Baat Hai by Lata Mangeshkar. She really wanted to sing that song so much..
This is the bengali version, which Asha Bhosle sang with her sublime voice & style♥️🙏🏽
Chokhe naame brishti..
A deeply sad day for India, and for music lovers across the world.
For us, Asha Tai was family. Today, words feel too small for the loss we feel. One moment the heart falls silent, and the next, it drifts through the countless melodies she gifted all of us.
It feels as though time itself has paused. Yet through her eternal songs, she will remain timeless forever.
Thank you, Tai, for filling our lives with warmth, grace, and unforgettable music.
We will miss you beyond words, Asha Tai. 🙏🏻
Back in 1996, a pretty incredible album called 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘤𝘺 hit the scene. It was a rare meeting of two musical giants, sarod maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and the legendary Asha Bhosle. Together, they pulled together an unprecedented collection of eleven Indian classical pieces dating back to the 16th–18th century Mughal courts.
While Asha Ji provided the vocals, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan performed the sarod and Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri backed them up on the tabla and pakhawaj. It was a beautiful bridge between eras, and the music world definitely took notice. The album even earned a well-deserved Grammy nomination in 1997.
