A ball moving in a circle can travel at a constant speed and still be accelerating.
Its speed stays the same, but its direction changes every instant. That change in direction means its velocity is changing, producing an acceleration toward the centre of the circle.
The formula is a = vยฒ/r, where v is speed and r is the radius. Double the speed, and the acceleration becomes four times greater.
