What happens when you die:
They divide up your shit.
They summarize your life in 500-1000 words.
People who knew you less say sorry to people who knew you more.
Everyone eats, drives home, and wakes up the next day and goes to work.
Whatever you’re worried about won’t be in those 500 words.
You can dare greatly or not at all, but you’re gonna die either way.
Might as well squeeze every motherfucking drop out.
Anyway we'll say it again. Paid off home and around $4-5M is usually what most people will call "done"
This implies your house is paid (min. cash burn) and the 4-5M gets you $160-200K to spend
Really hard to be unhappy there. If you can do more go for it, but minimal utility
No one is paying attention to you or cares about anything you're doing.
Starting a business makes you realize this.
When you have to move heaven and earth to get even a small handful of initial people to take a look at what you're doing.
This is incredibly true, once you work for yourself the past is too far to even comprehend anymore
You forget the entire thing exists faster than they forget you left
The longer I’m out of corporate America, the more I realize that corporate people don’t understand the world outside of the cage. (and vice versa)
It’s two different universes with different rules.
You dont want a yacht. You dont want a big house. You dont want a super car, a $40,000 watch, or shoes you worry about getting dirty. You want free will.
You want to wake up naturally on a Tuesday and you want to go to bed when you’re done having fun. You want to say yes to everything that excites you without having to request time off. You want to go to the the gym at noon, in absolutely no hurry. You want to spend 18 hours a day doing what you love. You want to be exactly where you desire being, always. You want to spend as much time with the people you care about as possible.
You’re saying you wanna be rich? In what?
