One of the OGs I respect in this industry.
Graceful when he’s winning and maintains composure when he isn’t.
If you are not paying attention you wouldn’t be able to tell this post is a crash out.
He once wrote a thread on how to protect your wins
Now he shows how you handle losses 🫡
There’s a lot to be grateful for
In the first video, I had just lost my father a couple months back, scared asf about life and almost deferred my admission cause I had absolutely no idea how I’d go about getting through school, bawled my eyes out right before making that video.
I sold my laptop to afford rent for that apartment, after staying with someone I had just met for the first time in Ogbomoso (God bless you Henry, he took in a complete stranger)
I slept on the floor for 2 months.
Life humbled me early.
Only up from here 🤞🏾
99.9% of 40 year old men with 700 million dollars sit around with whores.
I could have done the same and talked shit on the Internet and took no risks and just lived easy.
In my heart I knew I’m too old.
I knew I’d been out too long.
That’s why I had to do it.
To face fear. I can’t live scared. I have to know I faced it.
I lost fair and square.
Chase is a true champion.
A warrior - I’m proud of him.
He deserves that belt.
Absolutely nothing. If Mark Cuban hadn't hedged his Yahoo stock after selling his company he'd have lost the majority of his wealth. Diversifying was (and still is) perfectly reasonable advice. Gates has a 100 billi. Pretty sure he sleeps well at night.
Fun fact: if Bill Gates hadn’t listened to Warren Buffett and hadn’t sold his Microsoft shares to diversify, he would be the world’s first trillionaire, worth twice as much as Elon.
What do we learn from this story?
Forget even hiring a competent person, if Dangote put this stupid petition in the $20/month version of ChatGPT, it would have flagged this point. But these are not the skills you need to become a cement billionaire
I always knew that I was good. I am electric, but of course I cannot always live with that self-belief. I wake up everyday really asking myself if I am good or not, and I’ve just resolved to take the words of third parties as true. My conclusion is that if every single person I have worked with or that has seen me work, including the smartest, most hardworking and most successful partners across big law firms in multiple jurisdictions and different practice areas tell me that I am electric, then I am. These are people that don’t need to please me or anything. They didn’t need to tell me that, but they did, because it’s true.
So I know that I am extremely good at what I do because I have seen how people have reacted to me. I now know that I am not just extremely good, I am rare and special. I am different. I blow their minds away.
I now have the confidence that I can do anything really. I have changed practice groups, changed jurisdictions and tried very different things. I just get it. The quality is just consistent across board. There’s no stopping me in this life, but you can try the next one.
Thrilled to share I'll be exploring the intersection of law, creativity and innovation at @kietlawHQ over the next three months! Looking forward to what will definitely be a phenomenal experience!🧎🏽
From pioneering the IP and Tech Law Club at the University of Calabar to being appointed President of the NIPC, Emmanuel’s work in technology and IP, along with his uncommon technical skills as a frontend developer reflect the curiosity and drive we value at Kiet.
As usual, I've tried to write an educational post on this saga.
If you've been wondering why fintech leaders like @TechProd_Arch, and @eldivine are rejoicing. Here is why:

It's that time of the year again when law firms are opening their applications for trainee associates, and I've had to engage in a lot of conversations (more than I appreciate at this point😭) on how to scale through the recruitment cycle.
I did it💃💃
1) I applied to a big 4 for my NYSC internship and I got in.
2) Wrote my ICAN professional exam even with just a month preparation and I passed.
3) Started a business I knew nothing about at first and now it making numbers 💃🥹
God is so so good🙏🥹❤️🥳
