Pashan Lake is a symptom of how democracy has failed its citizens in India.
The elected representatives and govt bureaucracy decides what they will work on with complete disregard to what citizens want.
I have no idea how we can get the govt machinery work for citizens.
(I have tagged to elected representatives earlier, but apparently, they don't acknowledge complaints of an average nobody like me.)
Drill those mountains and build a bloody extra railway line instead. That will be more helpful. Run RRTS between Mumbai and Pune. It will probably be the busiest railway in the world.
That river project really one of the most cruelly greedy and long term harmful projects ever in Pune history. They cut tens of thousands of trees for something no one ever asked for. Pune needs better public transit not a tree genocide for a river walk of limited utility.
Nashik - 34L trees planted, but only on paper. On ground - only खड्डे!
Same story all over MH
1. Announce a plantation drive with some ridiculously large number of trees
2. Give a fancy name to the plantation drive (एक पेड माँ के नाम)
This seems to be their idea of greening the state.
Is it any wonder that no one trusts @Dev_Fadnavis when he declares 3cr trees will be planted this year?
@taran_adarsh Thank you @taran_adarsh for speaking about our film Oslo : A Tail of Promise! We are looking forward for its reception!
John has his heart in the right place & glad we could work together to bring such an important message!

A CM calls common citizens as naxals, threatens jail; while his own lord masters erase entire coral bays off maps!
What chance tiny little hills like #VetalTekdi have before such a brute force driving industrial scale annihilation?

Read this! #Pune was once a pensioner’s pradise and student capital. Green, cool, #cycleable with salubrious localities. Its changed into ugly, dusty, less green and chaotic metro. We are headed for decay with the hyper dvlpt lacking aesthetics and vision. Can we still undo this?
A damning indictment of @araiindia Pune
Yes, the firm that has illegally expanded on #Vetaltekdi and wants 55 hectares more of precious Forest land.
Horrific tragedy due to poor oversight of basic safety standards by ARAI.
Very well written post on Facebook, by @KelkarSharad.
A few years ago, he used to support this project but he took the time and effort and after reading all the reports and documents independently concluded that #BBPPRoad is a disaster in making.
Youtube simulation mentioned in his post is available at this link:

May more and more people understand all the problems that this road is going to create for the city, if PMC continues to insist on this.
#Pune 250+(!!) crores on a (merely) 2.1 km!! stretch of road. PP-BB Rd to connect Kothrud to SB Road. Imagine if this money were used to make other roads in Pune world-class: no potholes, traffic would flow faster. Commuters everywhere would reach work/home faster. #SavePuneHills
Yes, it's not the same everywhere, but the Bangkok tunnel collapse is screaming out what we are doing to our cities must change.
Say NO to tunnels and roads across #VetalTekdi
Before even thinking of a road across the tekdi, there's a dozen things that are way easier, cheaper, better to do (or undo) than having the entire city lose a lung!
