@TimHarford Lots of accountants and finance people don’t understand spreadsheets - they understand calculators. I’ve frequently seen them take numbers from a spreadsheet, use them to calculate a new number on their calculator and then place the result in another cell in the same spreadsheet.

@geekagog @DanielPink Unfortunately, a shutdown of desire is an all too common by-product of the education system in the UK and, from what I hear, the US too. Perhaps If we stopped pushing panaceas, we might help children retain a little more of the desire for learning they’re born with.
