Just stumbled across this. Something I was thinking about and tried a couple of times but wasn’t sure if it would be the case. This points to the fact it may well be the case!

My son (6) is positive for covid.
So we decided to do a little experiment.
On the left is a flowflex lateral flow test with just a nasal swab (as advised) - negative.
On the right is a flowflex lateral flow test (same batch) where we swabbed the throat instead - positive.

Difficult for one department to change approach when all are following PH advice. The advice should change if relevant. Mech Vent & filtration is good but expensive.

@DudleyButt @IainKewley @AlTea84125134 The way I see it is that as a worst case scenario is that we have been pointlessly wearing masks for a year or so… although I don’t believe that is the case and that any kind of face covering has some benefit, however marginal.

Think its a case of different view points but I just worry that this will cause some additional issues in light of a (potentially) worsening situation but you are right, those who avoided having a PCR will avoid reporting a LFT and the same for those who would.

Just wonder whether the percentage in this case may be higher? Concerning if Omicron gets a hold and causes hospitalisations, especially at the current daily case rate.
