AI Overview clearly states N26 Metal provides automatic rental car insurance. It sites a document that explicitly says this coverage is no longer provided! Nice job AI overview.
AI Overview is not good at parsing documents, among other things.
In summary, once I finally chatted with a person, they sorted my problem relatively quickly. It just took way too long to get there.

On the topic of @vodafone customer service in Germany... There are no contact forms or email addresses to contact support. All I needed were some invoices older than 1 year for tax purposes. (Any invoices older than a year are no longer available online).
I can only guess the economics of this approach for vodafone. Surely it's more efficient to offer an async contact form. But I assume the play here is to just make it as annoying as possible to solve your problem that you will just give up.
