@JenRobichaux@data_atx We just did toddler swim lessons through Austin Parks & Rec and I’m convinced they were specifically designed to be bad. Like it would take me real effort to create a worse swim lesson without putting the kids in danger.
@Ednever I suspect that for these folks (not sure where I land, honestly), bribery is in conflict with the desire to instill a love of learning for learning’s sake? Thoughts?

@Sand1010101 @melissa@mbateman@gtdad Depends on how you define “good life.” For many, the life of a perpetual student is the ideal, and indeed, scholarship used to be for the sake of itself. I think it’s okay to treat it as a luxury. I’m tired of high school vanity projects (resume padding) that masquerade as impact
@std_devi8tion@melissa@mbateman@gtdad@HippyMomPhD My guess is the peer aspect is not, in fact, removed (co-ops, local extracurriculars, etc), but is this something you work into your pedagogy nonetheless?
