VANDERBIJLPARK – An urgent search is underway for 18-year-old Nontsikelelo Maseko, who disappeared on Tuesday morning while heading to school.

Maseko was last spotted in Vanderbijlpark wearing her Suiderlig high school uniform. She has knotless braids and was traveling to class when contact was lost.

According to the family, the last signal from her cellphone placed her at Benrose Supermarket in Deep City, Johannesburg.

Her father, Mr Maseko, and family friend Lebohang Mokoena are pleading with the public for any information that could lead to her safe return.

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has obtained a preservation order and an interim interdict over an immovable property valued at R6.4 million and R1.8 million in pension benefits belonging to Duduzile Nkosazana Nobungwana, a former supply chain clerk at Tembisa Hospital in Gauteng. Nobungwana resigned in the middle of a disciplinary hearing.

The late Rofhiwa (Fifi) Madima 🕊️was a Project Manager for Digital Transformation at Cardinal Insurance Management Systems, remembered as a treasured colleague with a joyful spirit. Tragically she was shot and killed in Venda, Limpopo, in March 2025.
Reports indicated she had previously obtained a protection order against an ex-boyfriend, who had allegedly threatened to hire hitmen to kill her.

Shot in Front of His Child: Father of Two Killed in Eloff

On 8 February 2026, father of two and IT specialist Calvin Motha (33) was allegedly shot and killed in front of his nine-year-old son by Adriaan van Tonder (71) in Eloff, near Delmas, Mpumalanga.

Both families were tenants on the same property. Due to repeated water interruptions, the landlord had installed a JoJo tank on Van Tonder’s side of the property for shared use.

The tensions began on Friday when the Motha household’s water supply was allegedly cut off. On Sunday, Calvin went to check whether the pump was on. A verbal altercation followed between the neighbours. Calvin called the landlord, who indicated that they should switch the pump on.

Later that day, after returning from shopping and discovering the water had been turned off again, Calvin and his son went back to switch the pump on. Another argument broke out, and a shot was fired.

Calvin’s pregnant partner, Ozia Dlongolo, tried to get to his body after the shooting, but van Tonder allegedly threatened to shoot her as well, she then fled to seek help.

Van Tonder has appeared in the Delmas Magistrate’s Court. The case was postponed to 17 February 2026. He remains in custody.

Are you guys aware of the ongoing case of Thandeka Mhlanzi ? A 33 year old woman who was gang raped by 10 men last year in October? She miraculously survived the attack but was injured for life . She currently carries a stoma bag (she can’t excrete waste by herself so it goes into a bag & is later disposed of .) She wears diapers because both her anus & vagina can’t hold anything in .

We are honestly not angry enough.

After raping her, they inserted things like bottles & cookies into her private parts .

You mean to tell me that out of TEN men , no one tried to stop the whole thing from happening? 10 people took turns & were aroused by a woman who was fearing for her life ? 💔💔

Simon Thelle Mogoerane (1960-1983) was a member of Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), who was executed by the apartheid government on June 9, 1983 after being assaulted and severely tortured, along with Jerry Mosololi and Marcus Motaung, who together were known as the "Moroka Three". The "Ladybrand Four" were four members of Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), who were abducted from Lesotho in 1987 and 1988 by the South African Security Branch. The victims were Betty Boom (pictured below), Nomasonto Mashiya, Tax Sejaname, and Mbulelo 'Khaya Kasibe' Ngono. They were held at a farm in Ladybrand, Free State, and their fate after the abduction remains unknown, though the abductors applied for amnesty, claiming they became askaris or informers.
