Duchess of Marlborough asked Czar Nicholas II why Russia wasn't a democracy. His reply:
There is nothing I would like better, but Russia is not ready for democratic government. We are two hundred years behind Europe in the development of our national political institutions. Russia is still more Asiatic than European and must therefore be governed by an autocratic government.
He went on to explain his absolute power, his daily separate audiences with ministers (no cabinet), and his fears about Russia’s vast, ignorant, superstitious, and fatalistic population.

Blair's essay is Blairism in theory. An Ultracentre Blairist Invariant Programme for academic, ivory tower purity testing. Wes Anderson's campagin in Blairism in practice. Real existing Blairsm. Blairism for the 20th century.
For all that he is now so far from his political starting point that one of his previous "essays" bemoaned the fact that the Labour Party exists at all as a mistake, Blair's worldview remains anchored around his past. Old Labour lives rent free in his head forever
Tony Blair always uses the word "radical" in a very particular way. For him, his radicalism is defined entirely in relation to the Old Labour Party. Is something similar in some way to Old Labour? Then it's not radical. Is is something different from Old Labour? Then it's radical
Oh, so Tony Blair’s “radical centre” is:
- reducing workers’ rights
- opposing wealth taxes
- axing climate commitments
- greater NHS privatisation
- toadying up to a Republican US president
Not exactly sure where the “radical” part of Blair’s radicalism is... 🤔
@OoeyGooey_Louie@HellFire80085 That's based on the British Republican flag designed by the Welsh radical Hugh Williams, which was adopted as a "English tricolour" by the poet William "Spartacus" Linton and any mod using it instead of the cringe Chartist tricolour gets 1000+ golden points
Most water caste tau in official art are kinda old and wrinkly (or not in very clear view)
But in the stories, there are multiple who are described as handsome/attractive in some form! so drawing them as handsome twinks is canon compliant ☺️
shout out to this guy in particular
@bhangbhangducx@ShawtyBrothers Was there some change from Legends? because in his debut in the Mandalorian Din Djarin treats Boba as if he’s a goy wearing a yarmulke
