Bedrock x Nomic - Trust-minimized, Decentralized BTC Staking
We’re excited to share that Bedrock is taking a major step toward decentralizing BTC staking through our integration with @Nomicbtc’s Babylon Bitcoin Staking Smart Contract on Ethereum. ⚡️
With this pivotal collaboration, $uniBTC becomes one of the first Bitcoin LRT's to be staked in a fully trust-minimized environment via @babylonlabs_io, eliminating the need for centralized custodians.
For #Bitcoin holders, this means securing yield while maintaining full control and liquidity of your assets—without compromise. 💪
As a leader in liquid staking, Bedrock is proud to take this significant step toward true decentralization, setting a new standard for the Bitcoin staking ecosystem. 🚀
Stay tuned for further updates as we prepare for Babylon’s Cap-3. 🔥

@cargodog_ @benthecarman@babylonlabs_io Slashing does need the committee, otherwise during slashing the staker could race to get a transaction confirmed which returns the funds to themself.
It won’t need a committee once Bitcoin has real covenants
@StakeandRelax@nomicbtc@RangerGeorge1 Something not mentioned is that the proposal states that the loan will be paid back with a 25% premium, so Osmosis community pool makes money off this deal regardless of the price of NOM
@FrauBelz@FenrirCosmos@osmosis@nomicbtc Will usually just be a few minutes, BTC network activity is just going crazy with ordinals right now. Working on improvements to the fee algo to prevent long waits
