Here are a few basic resources that can be used to support A-level migration units. Probably also suitable at GCSE . Skills based mainly - all from 2019 data. 1st attempt at setting up Google Drive. Let me know if it doesn't work! 😬 https://t.co/SmQPCyT81B
Appalling service from @Churchill they’ve messed up my mum (75yo) insurance TWICE by putting the wrong date (valid for 1 day rather than a year 🙄). She’s really upset about it all having spent hours on the phone about it today- and they won’t talk to me - her daughter! Awful
@CalMac_Updates Hi, I’m booked on one of the cancelled ferries from Stornaway to Ullapool (07:00 on the 9th) if ferries are running on the 10th do I need to rebook or just turn up? Thank you

In Scotland there's an 18th century house with a giant pineapple on top.
It might seem strange now, but 250 years ago this sort of thing was normal — people once used pineapples to decorate everything from sports trophies to cathedrals...
There is nothing like suddenly being overwhelmed by beauty laid bare: a glorious glimpse of grace in a sunrise or sunset, a garden in bloom, a mountain stream, autumn leaves that reveal, for a moment, transcendence.
Taoiseach says Israeli actions in Gaza 'not acceptable'
Speaking to @MiriamOCal, Mr Varadkar said "Israel is under threat. They do have a right to defend themselves, but they don't have the right to breach international humanitarian law."

Come on Egypt 🇪🇬 Air @EGYPTAIR what have you done to these poor cats in your care @NadaFarhoud@JournoJane@peta
On Friday 29th 12 cats from a rescue centre called Safe Haven Egypt (mainly special needs), were due to fly out on Egyptair Flight 985 from Cairo to New York. The cats were going to new homes or US rescues where they would stand a better chance of finding loving homes.
We don't know exactly what happened as Egyptair have not communicated with us, but the crates containing the cats were all damaged, some very badly, probably during loading. 5 cats escaped. 1 cat was recovered. 3 are still missing. 1 suffered fatal injuries.
Egyptair will not allow our staff in Cairo access to search for the missing cats, who are going to be terrified and possibly injured. They also refused to return the body of the deceased cat, Angus, who was blind. They claim they have buried him at the airport. We have severe doubts as to the truth of this.
Upon the flight's arrival in New York our representative who was collecting the cats found that some of the crates were gaffer taped together. Two were missing the doors completely, fortunately the cats had been too terrified to leave the crates. All the cats are, understandably, traumatised.
They are all supposed to be starting a new, happy life after suffering on the streets of Cairo (it's a myth that cats are treated like gods in Egypt, both cats and dogs are considered vermin and there are NO ANIMAL WELFARE LAWS AT ALL in Egypt). Instead we have this carnage. Safe Haven Egypt has thousands of supporters, mainly in the UK but all over the world, and we are all heartbroken. The team who run the rescue in Gisa, Cairo are absolutely devastated.
Egyptair were entrusted with these poor cats and did not take care of them or safeguard them from harm in any way. They did not inform the admin team of what had happened until SEVEN HOURS later. They just don't care.
So very true
Have you ever thought about this?
In 100 years like in 2123 we will all be buried with our relatives and friends.
Strangers will live in our homes we fought so hard to build, and they will own everything we have today. All our possessions will be unknown and unborn, including the car we spent a fortune on, and will probably be scrap, preferably in the hands of an unknown collector.
Our descendants will hardly or hardly know who we were, nor will they remember us. How many of us know our grandfather's father?
After we die, we will be remembered for a few more years, then we are just a portrait on someone's bookshelf, and a few years later our history, photos and deeds disappear in history's oblivion. We won't even be memories.
If we paused one day to analyse these questions, perhaps we would understand how ignorant and weak the dream to achieve it all was.
If we could only think about this, surely our approaches, our thoughts would change, we would be different people.
Always having more, no time for what's really valuable in this life. I'd change all this to live and enjoy the walks I've never taken, these hugs I didn't give, these kisses for our children and our loved ones, these jokes we didn't have time for. Those would certainly be the most beautiful moments to remember, after all they would fill our lives with joy.
And some of us waste it day after day with greed, selfishness and intolerance.
Every minute of life is priceless and will never be repeated, so take time to enjoy, be grateful for, and celebrate your existence.
The @Ofstednews subject report for Geography makes for tough reading at times, particularly in relation to my specialism, fieldwork.
Progress has undoubtedly been made since 2011, but lots more work to be done by me and others @GAFOLSIG to support teachers as best we can.
Lucid. One aspect that needs addressed is why don’t they care? They’ll be able to secure a future for themselves with their ££ on an unliveable planet for the rest of us.
A short film about why the dirtiest and most antisocial economic interests dominate our politics. I believe it's the key to understanding the terrible state we're in.
