Together with other Heads of Mission in Kyiv, we take note with concern of the Russian MFA's threat against diplomats and foreign citizens in Ukraine.
Russia is bound by the Vienna Convention and international humanitarian law.
We stay in Kyiv. 🇺🇦🤝🇪🇺
Russia's further threats and calls to diplomats to leave Kyiv show that the Kremlin is trying to bully Europe and undermine our support for Ukraine.
However, such measures, contrary to the principles of the international law, will not have the desired effect. Russia will neither wear Ukraine down nor shake European solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
Poland unwaveringly supports Ukraine, its right to self-determination and territorial integrity. We will continue to respond firmly to Russia’s irresponsible and dangerous actions and to increase pressure on the Kremlin together with our allies.
We do not intend to change the operations of the Polish Embassy in Kyiv.
Russia has a message for foreign diplomats in Kyiv: leave, or risk your lives.
Our answer: We are staying.
The EU Delegation is staying.
Threatening us will not stop Europe’s support for Ukraine. It only reminds us why that support matters!
🇪🇺🤝🇺🇦

Putin is in trouble. This is precisely the wrong moment to offer him a way out.
Keep calm and stay the course. Our strategy is working.
To those concerned about the risks posed by a losing aggressor, remember: aggression succeeding would be far more dangerous.
The last thing Europe should do is self-deter.
Building trusted partnerships, strengthening security, shaping new paths ahead.

🇷🇺 threat to foreign citizens & diplomats to leave Kyiv is an unacceptable escalation. @eu_eeas summoned the Chargé d'Affairs, calling to stop hitting civilians & 🇷🇺 to engage in genuine peace talks starting with a full and unconditional ceasefire. @EUDelegationUA stays in Kyiv.
Congratulations @magyarpeterMP for taking office as Prime Minister of Hungary.
In a happy coincidence, you do so on Europe Day, when we celebrate the achievements of EU cooperation and unity.
I look forward to working closely with you in #EUCO.
I was glad to speak with my good friend and colleague from Latvia @Braze_Baiba.
We are in close contact with Latvia over the recent drone incidents, and our competent authorities are sharing information to get to the bottom of what happened.
If there is a confirmation that those were Ukrainian drones that were deliberately knocked off course and directed toward Latvia by Russia’s electronic warfare, we will offer our most sincere apologies to our Latvian friends. What can be stated with full confidence is that Ukraine never directed any drones toward Latvia.
We have already expressed our apologies to all three Baltic states, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, as well as Finland, for the unintended incidents that were caused by Russia’s EW systems redirecting Ukrainian drones.
Our specialized institutions are working closely together to minimize risks of such incidents repeating.
Under President @ZelenskyyUa’s instructions, we are also considering a possibility of sending Ukrainian expert teams to help directly strengthen the airspace security of our friends against any types of incidents.
Today is an important day for our defense and for our relations with the European Union. The European support loan for Ukraine has been unblocked – €90 billion over two years. This package will strengthen our army, make Ukraine more resilient, and enable us to fulfill our social obligations to Ukrainians, as set out in law. It matters that Ukraine is securing this level of financial certainty – after more than four years of full-scale war.
We are working to ensure that the first tranche from this support package becomes available as early as May–June. The funds from the European package will be directed, among other priorities, to arms production, the procurement of necessary weapons from partners that we do not yet produce in Ukraine, and the preparation of our energy sector and critical infrastructure for the next winter.
During meetings in Cyprus, we will also discuss with partners further sanctions pressure on Russia over this war. The 20th package has been unblocked, and it must be followed by other sanctions steps. And we will continue exploring a new format of cooperation with our partners – Drone Deals – which has already proven effective in the Middle East and the Gulf. We believe that only through joint efforts can we achieve truly significant strength – and Europe deserves that kind of strength. Glory to Ukraine!
Deadlock over. The EU just cleared the way for the €90-billion-loan for Ukraine and the 20th sanctions package.
Russia’s war economy is under growing strain, while Ukraine is getting a major boost.
We will provide Ukraine what it needs to hold its ground, until Putin understands his war leads nowhere.
On this grim anniversary, the Coalition of the Willing stands with Ukraine.
We will step up military support and deliveries, with a focus on air defence systems, drones and long-range ammunition.
We are working on robust security and prosperity guarantees
– together with our US partners, solidly anchored in Ukraine's EU path.
✅️ The 🇪🇺 EU has secured further financial support of €90 bn for 🇺🇦 Ukraine.
Today’s decision at #EUCO is a testament to the EU’s unwavering commitment to stand by Ukraine until just & lasting peace is secured.
It’s also critical for the EU’s own security.
#StandWithUkraine
!!!! Important news !!!!
EU 🇪🇺 just decided to keep all Russian assets in EU countries immobilised indefinitely!
This means - the assets cannot be transferred to Russia from the EU!!!
@EUDelegationUA
Russia is locking itself into an escalatory path and is not seeking peace.
I firmly condemn the massive strikes that targeted Ukraine last night, particularly its energy and railway infrastructure.
We must continue to exert pressure on Russia to compel it to choose peace.
I will travel to London on Monday to meet with the Ukrainian President, the British Prime Minister, and the German Chancellor, in order to take stock of the situation and the ongoing negotiations within the framework of the U.S. mediation.
Ukraine can count on our unwavering support. This is the very purpose of the efforts we have undertaken within the Coalition of the Willing. We will continue these efforts with the Americans to provide Ukraine with security guarantees, without which no robust and lasting peace will be possible.
For what is at stake in Ukraine is also the security of Europe as a whole.
The best Enlargement Report in 3️⃣ years – the assessment of 🇺🇦 efforts on the path to 🇪🇺. @EU_Commission for the first-time acknowledges that Ukraine is demonstrating record progress in most reforms & in 1️⃣2️⃣ chapters this progress is at the level of “good”. I am grateful to everyone supporting every step of Ukraine on its EU path. The EC notes that Ukraine is moving from adopting laws to real impl. of European standards.
