As the 23rd Shangri-La Dialogue closes, one message stands out: security is shared.
What happens in one region can impact another. Trusted partners are crucial. And with many of our Asian partners, we share values and concerns.
We will continue to uphold them. Together.
Building trusted partnerships, strengthening security, shaping new paths ahead.

An honour to attend the reception and dinner hosted by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam for delegates of the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue.
EEAS Secretary-General Belén Martínez Carbonell, Lt Gen Enrico Barduani and EU Ambassador Artis Bērtulis exchanged views with the President on the European Union’s growing engagement in the Indo-Pacific and its deepening partnership with Singapore and the ASEAN region.
As we look ahead to 2027 – and the 50th anniversary of EU-ASEAN dialogue relations under Singapore’s ASEAN Chairship – we are stepping up cooperation beyond our already strong trade and investment ties, including in the realm of security.
The EU-Singapore partnership is built on trust, resilience and a shared commitment to regional stability and prosperity.

Big thanks to @JapanMissionEU for hosting a timely session of the Women in Trade Network on 'Redifining partnerships' at a time when #Europe is challenged all at once geopolitically, geostrategically and geoeconomically.
Europe often learns it the hard way but then acts smartly!
I concur with Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs @iwaonarajp on the interconnected security between Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
Even more reason to work towards a stronger 🇪🇺–🇯🇵 partnership. @EUinJapan
Happy 2083! I congratulated the Ambassador of Nepal to the EU @sewa_lamsal on the Nepali New Year, but even more on the ambitious 100-point reform plan issued recently by her new and inclusive government cabinet. You can count on @EUinNepal!
The way to end this war is to confront Moscow, not reward it. Not to loosen sanctions, but to harden them.
The 20th sanctions package is ready to go. We will tighten the net further, especially around Russia’s shadow fleet. And we must also deliver the €90-billion-loan.
My press remarks with @andrii_sybiha ↓
Bucha has come to symbolise the cruelty of Russia’s war.
Of the civilians killed, many were shot at close range. Some with their hands tied behind their backs.
Four years after these mass killings, we remember the victims.
What happened here cannot be denied.
The EU is committed to ensuring that these crimes do not go unpunished, including by supporting the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression, alongside the Claims Commission.
Russia must be held accountable for what it has done to Ukraine.
The EU🇪🇺 & Indonesia🇮🇩 do not only share the same motto, we also share the objective of strategically uplifting our partnership among like-minded middle powers. Grateful for the many insightful exchanges, lot of ideas to follow up!
