@Scanlon_Leslie Two fascinating Canadians who should be remembered and I had the privilege of meeting them both. Grateful for the title of the biography for my holiday ahum retirement reading...
A socially-distanced farewell to my dear colleague @marcellouwman & Gudrun on this beautiful #DenHaag evening. Marcel, ik ga je missen en wens je veel succes bij je volgende stap. Hartelijk dank voor alles wat je voor mij, ons team en Canada hebt gedaan. 🙏 Tot ziens! 👋
The embassy’s dedicated driver Jan drove me for the last time today. It’s been a rewarding 31 years and four months working for Canada. My early trips with Jan in 1989 were in a Chevrolet Caprice Classis with 8 cyl. and leaded petrol. Thx Jan for the save kilometers together!!!
@jarrettreckse@keatingpatrick Every single trip to Canada had to include a visit to Mountain Equipment Co-op. Especially the shop on King in Toronto and the one on West Broadway in Vancouver. So sad! I think I still have everything I bought there since 1989. I always felt bad I couldn’t bring back a Kayak..
@keatingpatrick Indeed. I got my membership as a young pup at the old Calgary story on south bank of Bow River...must have been 1992. A real shame to see things come to this...the company totally veered away from its proper co-op roots, complete with dumping the 'Mountain Equipment Co-up' name
📢 We’re hiring! @CanAmbNL is looking for a Foreign Policy and Diplomacy Service Officer to work on Dutch domestic and EU issues.
