Filename - still seeing it and while it’s not the optimal; when files are outside the CDE it has its uses.
Folk clinging to CI/SfB.
@bondbryanBIM @HP_BIM_Wizard@Just_Super Hey Rob, classification not required now in data? Or do you mean specifically uniclass? I’m confused now.
Also IMV some degree of classification is needed in file names to describe works package.
But 2015 is a pain.
An important point about the burden of proof in the Cummings saga:
The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 provide that it is an offence for a person to leave the place where they are living *without reasonable excuse*. [1/4]
Climate change is another key consideration when looking at productivity says @NobleFrancis. He used a great visual, but I prefer this one from @xkcdComic (Sorry!)

Passengers need to see action - URGENTLY.

Advise from the panel: tell clients that they need their own #BIM guidelines independent of what the software can deliver. Make the software work for you. Take the collaborative principles learnt with you as you move from project to project
#constructionrevolution
@StewartGH1970@clarkrob I’m not a revit user.
I don’t show “family names” and wouldn’t ever be showing proprietary software data fields in any deliverables. #openbim#Archicad can recompose and concatenate Type Names for output. Nothing to do with how we manage libraries. But BS guidance isn’t clear.
BIM folk. Looking for a majority view on this, or even better a definitive answer if someone can point me to the defining clause.
COBie 2.4 Type Naming.
Include Originator code per BS 8541-1:2012
Omit Originator code as BS 1192-4:2014
I thinking the latter.
@StewartGH1970@clarkrob Not confused. Just reading the documents. Im aware 8541 is for library parts. But it gives a COBie example in the document. The question is to garner opinion on this format vs that given in 1192-4.
@clarkrob Quite right of course it’s the name of the asset. Not sure you read the question though.
I’m not asking what to name the files or families etc.
What format should the asset name take? 8541-1:2012 and 1192-4:2014 suggest two different things.
@StewartGH1970@Studio_Bim Cheers will do. More research required. At present only concerned with the fit to level 2 though.
1192-4 seems more relevant as specifically about COBie rather than object naming. No idea why there’s a COBie example in 8541 anyway.
@Studio_Bim Only if we're identifying Type level information on the drawing output. Which isn't always the case. The COBie Type Name is shown with an "Originator_" in 8541 -1 appendix example. But without one in the 1192-4 example.
@dgsimpson74@StewartGH1970 @AndyBoutle @BIM4Contractors@brynmainwaring@paulshillcock @NigelPDavies @bondbryanBIM @theNBS Definitely a mistake to add DG out of no where. But folk have been adding various type codes to most projects I’ve seen. This is because the BS “type” codes have always been a flawed concept.
@brynmainwaring @GallTryBIM @AndyBoutle @StewartGH1970@BIM4Contractors@paulshillcock @NigelPDavies @bondbryanBIM @theNBS It is useful. But not all CDEs do so it doesn’t work from project to project. I.e. not repeatable standard. It’s essential though for avoiding “secondary” files.
@SW_Help@Maino_88 Excuse me TH. I’m confused. The 6.20 Her to Wat and the 6.23 Ham to Wat we’re both cancelled due to train faults AJ said. You’re now saying the later trains on the same lines also have faults? The 7.26 Sur and the 7.20 Ham? These are not isolated incidents. @swtrains_watch
@SW_Help@swtrains_watch These are the only trains in the area either side of an hour. Your service is wholly inadequate. What is being done about these incessant faults? @swtrains_watch
