Been following this case for years. The most likely suspect instead of some far reaching conspiracy like the Franklin Credit Union thing.
Four years ago, in the middle of a pandemic, we needed a leader with the character to put politics aside and do what was right. That’s what @JoeBiden did.
At a time when our economy was reeling, he drove what would become the world’s strongest recovery – with 17 million new jobs, historic wage gains, and lower health care costs. He passed landmark legislation to rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and address the threat of climate change.
I’m grateful to Joe for his leadership, his friendship, and his lifetime of service to this country we love.
1. People often think being a TV meteorologist is glamorous. (Don’t get me wrong, it’s the second coolest job I could dream of!) But it might come as a shock to learn, I really struggled to keep my head above water most of my adult life. Hell, I am still working on paying off credit cards today!
2016 was also a crazy year because it’s when this photo was taken. Exactly 8 years ago today at the age of 40, I was finally in a place where I could buy my first home. (The word “buy” for me means it’s financed and the bank owns it until 2046.)
2. But look closer at the picture. I don’t know if you can see it, but behind that smile is a lot of pain. I don’t think I’ve ever shared this photo because I remember, and I kinda hate it.
2016 was rough. I went through so many pokes and prods, several surgeries for my kidneys and bladder that any of them could’ve at any point killed me. And many days I didn’t think I had the strength. I didn’t know then, the key was squashing the doubt I had in myself.
And I am so lucky because this photo represents the beginning of so much.
3. wouldn’t have been able to fly this fighter jet so well if I didn’t have those times I almost crashed into the ocean.
But it also makes me understand more than ever that we need to help others open the doors.
I hear the stories of neighbors and friends, struggling to pay down credit cards, and medical bills piling up for no reason than a stroke of bad luck. And if you happen to get sick without being able to afford insurance? Don’t get me started.
4. I guess my point is, I know it’s not going perfect for a lot of us today. And shame on anyone who turns their nose up at us with some bruises and a little dirt under our nails.
But today and in the upcoming 4th of July week, I hope you’re able to take a few moments and breathe in some fresh air. Really think about your way of life today. Even with the struggle, I hope you can muster the smile because of what’s around you and what you know in your heart is ahead of us.
I hope the dream for what’s next in your life isn’t drowned out by the voice in your head or the people around you who say you‘ll never be able to do it.
Because you’ve got this.
If anyone was curious as to what happens in north-central Illinois: a school bus driver was driving erratically and speeding at ~ 70 mph while playing the unsettling sound of an Aztec death whistle thru speakers. https://t.co/cUMCPo8bCw
@CyleDickens Several years ago people on Facebook lost their *minds* because one of the KWQC meteorologists at the time dared to interrupt AGT for ongoing tornado coverage. Like it was BAD. Erik could attest to it
