@carlbrad66 @horsevault As others have said, it’s Sailor King. 4th in a Curragh maiden at 2, then 2nd in a 12f Naas maiden, 5th in the Blandford Stakes (12f) and 6th in the Irish Leger at 3. Seemingly ended up as an unsuccessful sire of jumpers standing in Oregon.

If you look really carefully at that Kempton card today and squint a bit, you can just about see the faint outline of the Charisma and the Captain Quist, with ‘Everett (NAP)’ in the margin.

@OwnersforOwners @BHAPressOffice Jon, is it important to define what’s meant by ‘grassroots’? I’d see a distinction between supporting progressive race types of lower class to enable the cream to rise, versus for eg low grade handicaps. Or do you simply mean all lower class races?

Smallest field for the National Hunt Chase since Innisfail beat 3 others at Bogside in 1890. Four trainers,seven runners. Race has totally lost its identity. Time to go back to its very early days and move it from course to course, under its pre-2002 conditions?
