The weird thing about my experience as a party girl was that 99.7% of guys I encountered were frankly obsessed with consent.

I'm supposed to think of men as predatory, but that was just... not my experience.

I've gone to strangers' places drunk & decided I didn't want sex... it was fine.

I've stopped guys in the middle of sex... they always stopped.

I've had guys tell me I was too drunk & they didn't feel comfortable continuing.

I've done almost every drug with guys & they didn't suddenly start ignoring my consent.

Which makes the Cornell case ESPECIALLY abhorrent to me. I am sick of hearing men as a group are predators & will inevitably act like this if women get wild!

At least ime, most dudes would like to get laid, would not be interested in "getting laid" if the woman wasn't into it aka raping her, & are not predators.

Do dudes do things like push another drink hoping she'll be more down? Yes. Y'all can debate how predatory that is.

But most guys, even if a woman is vulnerable, are not ready to rape her.

Or maybe that's just been my experience for reasons I don't pretend to get.

The only time a guy tried to rape me was in a car after a date when we were quite sober & I was a teenager.

One guy slipped something in my drink on a first date.

One guy shoved his hand up me on a dance floor in college.

3 men out of so many.

I have had many men get scarily angry after I didn't want a 1st or 2nd date, so it's not like bad dudes don't exist.

But I dunno. What do y'all think? What % of men are actual predators out there? I'd say a sizable minority, probably around 10% based on one study I saw.
