🔥 A+ response from Liberal Energy Minister Hodgson on how the federal government justifies expanding Canadian oil & gas production; Alberta Energy Minister Brian Jean beaming in the background.
"In the world we need to live in - not in a magical world - in the world as it is not as we wish it to be, this is the most productive way to be a clean and conventional energy superpower and it makes complete sense to do that."

[Eric Nuttall @ericnuttall]

My god how far we have come as a country in just over a year…a Liberal saying: “In the world we need to live in - not in a magical world - in the world as it is not as we wish it to be, this is the most productive way to be a clean and conventional energy superpower and it makes complete sense to do that.”

To qualify for a mortgage to buy a home in Canada, the minimum household income is now $175,317. Now keep in mind you will have to pay 38% tax, and every dollar you earn above that the Provincial and Federal government considers you ultra rich and is taxed at 48%. So mortgage, property taxes and insurance is 65% of your after tax income. Good luck. Young Canadians are f&$#ed.

I don't care if you unfollow me for this. Justin Trudeau is the WORST thing to happen to Canada in my lifetime.

I’m thankful for the work of the diligent Calgary Police officers and ground search teams working around the clock to find Parker. The province has also deployed 74 trained search and rescue personnel to assist in this search.

But we need your help.

🚨Calgary - please help assist in the search for Parker. Check your yards, doorbell cameras, garages and other accessible spaces.🚨

Parker is an 11 year old boy, he has autism and is non-verbal. If you see Parker, do not approach him, as he can become easily frightened and may attempt to hide. Instead, keep your distance and contact police immediately.

If you have any information that can help please contact the below numbers:

It was such a privilege to be part of FAN 960 for parts of three decades, dating back to my time analyzing Flames games alongside Jock Wilson, Friday hits with Rob Kerr, and my lengthy run alongside the uber-talented @Fan960Steinberg on the EF Hour.
Such a wonderful venue to dig deep into the Flames and the Calgary sportscape, while having some laughs along the way.
So many passionate, dedicated people on staff who did well to give fans and journalists a platform to hash out the sporting issues of the day.
The station also gave a voice to @KidSportCalgary and so many other great causes and community-leading people/sponsors in our city.
As Ken King used to say, “all this was ever meant to be is fun.”
Today’s news is no fun. 💔

It’s time for Prime Minister @MarkJCarney to join me and millions of our fellow Canadians in supporting the appointment of Don Cherry to the Order of Canada, one of our nation’s highest honours.

This shouldn’t even be up for debate. Don Cherry is a Canadian icon, a hockey legend and is loved by Albertans. He’s not just one of the greats, his word and opinion about our national sport is still treated as hockey gospel by millions of Canadians.

His contributions to Canadian sport and culture are undeniable, and the work he did to honour our nation’s veterans was an invaluable contribution to our country. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Canadians.

So, put the puck in the net and give Grapes the recognition he deserves.

I’m pleased to announce my candidacy for the 2026 Board of Directors Election at Calgary Co-op.  Please see the following link to vote https://t.co/4dM3nhzykS
I’ve served membership-based and community-focused organizations as a director and senior executive. I bring experience in governance, financial oversight, strategic leadership, and community engagement, along with formal training through the ICD.
Today, Calgary Co-op is in a period of significant change. Leadership transitions, expansion and mixed-use development projects, supply chain pressures, rising grocery costs, and broader economic uncertainty. This is when governance matters most.  The recent closure of two stores in NW Calgary hits close to home for me.  One of those stores is where my 83-year-old father-in-law shops.  I also understand concerns about rising costs, like many families, we feel it in our household of five.  Beyond the personal impact, my thoughts are also with the team members who may lose their employment, and with the more than 3,000 employees across the organization navigating uncertainty.
If you’re one of the 400K Co-op members or 3,500 Team Members, I respectfully ask for your vote. Please see the following link to votehttps://www.calgarycoop.com/marco-de-iaco/
Thank you!

Any person who opted to omit Belichick from their ballot should be stripped of their voting privileges for the hall of fame moving forward.

To be so petty to not have Bill Belichick as a first ballot Hall of Famer is a disgrace to the game and what Canton is to stand for.

The national anthem is important to a lot of people. Please sing it correctly.

[Arash Madani @ArashMadani]

Oh, you know, just Rufus Wainwright out here butchering our national anthem at the World Series.

Wow. What an abomination.

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation dished out $30 million in bonuses last year.

99% of its executives took a bonus, according to records. Average bonus for CMHC exec was $42,000.

Canadians can't afford homes. Government housing bureaucrats take bonuses.

When the iPhone launched, everyone kept asking what the mobile use case would be. Would people check email on their phones? Maybe browse simplified websites? The assumption was that your PC would remain the center of your digital life and your phone would handle some lightweight tasks on the side.

Benedict Evans remembers those debates. He was a telecom analyst back then, watching everyone try to figure out what ‘mobile internet’ actually meant. In hindsight, the entire industry was thinking about it the wrong way. They were looking for better ways to do existing things instead of imagining entirely new categories of behavior.

The iPhone wasn't just a better BlackBerry. It fundamentally changed what a phone could be. Within a few years, Uber drivers were navigating cities through their phones, Instagram was turning everyone into photographers, and TikTok was creating entirely new forms of entertainment. None of these were 'mobile versions' of existing products. They were what the iPhone made possible.

Benedict thinks we’re now making similar assumptions today with AI. We're focused on whether it can replace existing tools or do current tasks faster. But he points out that testing new technology against old criteria misses the point. The real changes, as with every platform shift, will be the things we haven't imagined yet.

Canada should be building pipelines and approving resource projects, not driving hundreds of billions in investment away.

Another major energy company is now moving jobs and pipeline construction to the U.S., pushed out by the federal Liberal anti-resource development laws.

If Ottawa is serious about strengthening the Canadian economy, the oil and gas emissions/production cap, net zero power regs, and tanker ban must be repealed immediately.

Every day we delay these desperately needed reforms, we lose out on thousands of jobs billions in projects for our province and country. And the United States continues to hold us over a barrel as our only real customer.

Canada is bankrupt but Carney is sending another $4.3B to Zelensky to continue fighting a pointless war that doesn’t concern us.

That’s HALF the $9B in additional military spending he announced two weeks ago to immediately reach the current NATO target of 2% of GDP!
