Our CCCM teams all over #Ukraine, eager to learn, discuss, share solutions on management and coordination of collective centers.
They reach weekly ~50,000 amongst the most vulnerable people hosted in dormitories, schools etc.
A lot of work ahead, but with the right enthusiasm!
With many IDPs still living in collective sites in #Ukraine, site management & coordination is critical to ensuring people can access them when needed
To support CCCM teams across the country, UNHCR & @CCCMCluster organized 3 trainings for 90 staff in Lviv, Vinnytsia & Dnipro
UN convoy in Kherson region attacked by Russia while delivering lifesaving aid.
Outrageous and unacceptable.
Humanitarian workers are not targets, we must protect those who bring relief to civilians in crisis.

6/6 Today, on the first day of Eid, we returned and recovered the buried bodies of 8 PRCS, 6 Civil Defense and 1 UN staff. They were killed in their uniforms. Driving their clearly marked vehicles. Wearing their gloves. On their way to save lives. This should never have happened
Just back from Gaza, humanitarian leader @NRC_Egeland says what Israel is doing to Palestinian civilians is "unlawful beyond belief."

"We urge the international community to continue standing with #Ukraine.
The war continues to kill and injure civilians, destroy vital infrastructure, and put the lives of people delivering aid at risk. @matzschmale asks for sustained support for those affected as winter starts.
The vote by the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) against @UNRWA this evening is unprecedented and sets a dangerous precedent. It opposes the UN Charter and violates the State of Israel’s obligations under international law.
This is the latest in the ongoing campaign to discredit UNRWA and delegitimize its role towards providing human-development assistance and services to #Palestine Refugees.
These bills will only deepen the suffering of Palestinians, especially in #Gaza where people have been going through more than a year of sheer hell.
It will deprive over 650,000 girls & boys there from education, putting at risk an entire generation of children.
These bills increase the suffering of the Palestinians & are nothing less than collective punishment.
Putting an end to UNRWA & its services will not strip the Palestinians from their refugee status. That status is protected by another UN General Assembly resolution until a fair and lasting solution is found to the plight of the Palestinians.
Failing to push back these bills will weaken our common multilateral mechanism established after World War 2.
This should be a concern to all.
🆘🆘 from our @UNRWA staff in northern #Gaza.
Nearly three weeks of non-stop bombardments from the Israeli Forces as the death toll increases.
Our staff report they cannot find food, water or medical care.
The smell of death is everywhere as bodies are left lying on the roads or under the rubble. Missions to clear the bodies or provide humanitarian assistance are denied.
In northern Gaza, people are just waiting to die.
They feel deserted, hopeless and alone. They live from one hour to the next, fearing death at every second.
Throughout the war over the past year, some UNRWA staff stayed in the north & did the impossible to provide aid to internally displaced people.
We kept some of our shelters open despite heavy bombardments & attacks on our buildings.
On behalf of our staff in northern Gaza, I am calling for an immediate truce, even if for few hours, to enable safe humanitarian passage for families who wish to leave the area & reach safer places.
This is the bare minimum to save the lives of civilians who have nothing to do with this conflict.
#CeaseFireNow
The entire edifice of modern international law was built precisely to stop regimes like Israel from aggression, apartheid, war crimes, crimes against humanity & genocide. The system is crumbling before our eyes because the US, UK & Europe have decided that their settler-colonial project in Palestine is more important than global peace, security & human rights. The world must stand up & resist this. Truly, all of humanity is Palestine & Lebanon now.
Ukraine:
Attacks on civilians are war crimes. Yesterday, a missile strike in Lviv took 7 lives, including 3 children.
More than 30 injured. Homes destroyed, schools closed, families uprooted.
This cannot continue.
Civilians are not and must never be targets.
Today is the first day back to school in Ukraine, but instead of waking up full of anticipation, many children woke up in shelters to the sound of explosions and sirens.

Ukraine: horrible missile attack hit a medical clinic & destroyed an administrative building in Kharkiv today, injuring civilians including a baby. NRC working hard to provide relief here.
This violates Humanitarian Law. Attacks on medical facilities & civilians are war crimes
Hundreds of thousands have fled #Rafah since Israel’s unlawful evacuation orders last week. People have run out of options with no safe place to go. Further hostilities in Rafah will be catastrophic for the displaced and aid teams supporting them.

UNRWA has been forced temporarily to closed its headquarters in Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem because “'Israeli residents set fire twice to the perimeter' on Thursday evening. UNRWA personnel and staff from other UN agencies were inside the compound."
https://t.co/ELVstnBI02
This evening, Israeli residents set fire twice to the perimeter of the UNRWA Headquarters in occupied East Jerusalem.
This took place while UNRWA and other UN Agencies’ staff were on the compound.
While there were no casualties among our staff, the fire caused extensive damage to the outdoor areas. The UNRWA headquarters has on its grounds a petrol and diesel station for the Agency’s fleet of cars.
Our director with the help of other staff had to put out the fire themselves as it took the Israeli fire extinguishers and police a while before they turned up.
A crowd accompanied by armed men were witnessed outside the compound chanting “Burn down the United Nations” (see video below 👇 from Israeli media).
This is an outrageous development. Once again, the lives of UN staff were at a serious risk.
In light of this second appalling incident in less than a week, I have taken the decision to close down our coumpound until proper security is restored.
Over the past two months, Israeli extremists have been staging protests outside the UNRWA compound in Jerusalem, called by an elected member of the Jerusalem municipality.
This week, the protest became violent when demonstrators threw stones at UN staff and at the buildings of the compound.
Over the past months, UN staff have regularly been subjected to harassment and intimidation. Our compound has been seriously vandalized and damaged.
On several occasions, Israeli extremists threatened our staff with guns.
It is the responsibility of the State of Israel as an occupying power to ensure that United Nations personnel and facilities are protected at all times.
UN staff, premises and operations should be protected at all times in line with international law.
I call on all those who have influence to put an end to these attacks and hold all those responsible accountable.
The perpetrators of these attacks must be investigated and those responsible must be held accountable.
Anything less will set a new dangerous standard.
As negotiations are once again underway, I strongly encourage the government of Israel & the Hamas leadership to reach an agreement.
For the sake of the people of Gaza. For the sake of the hostages & their families. For the sake of the region & the wider world.
