@robin_j_brooks One consideration for your chart is that the recent run in gold was due to the decline in real rates before 2022. The gold rise was dampened and delayed a few years because investors went to crypto instead. then switched from crypto to gold exasperating the divergence you show.

@robin_j_brooks I think that’s gonna reverse at some point, and possibly already has. The demand for capital has changed and will increase. Capital will need to leave non-yielding assets. And high and increasing real rates will drive it.

@robin_j_brooks I don’t know where you get your numbers but of the nine largest AI spenders I know they’re going from a net 500 billion savings to a 1 trillion spending or about a 5% of GDP swing. Perhaps it just hasn’t shown up in the data yet as spent due to circular financing. But it’s going.
