China understands something the West keeps forgetting: trade is not a zero-sum game.
Xi Jinping is pushing for a China–EU relationship built on mutual benefit, not confrontation. Europe needs China’s industrial strength, China benefits from European expertise, and both sides gain when cooperation wins over political hostility.
While Washington pushes the world toward blocs and economic confrontation, Beijing is calling for an orderly multipolar world where countries can prosper without choosing sides.
China isn’t asking Europe to agree with everything Beijing does. It’s asking Europe to stop treating economic cooperation as a geopolitical threat. That’s the difference between building shared prosperity and turning trade into a weapon.

BREAKING AND UNUSUAL
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN POLAND:
▪️ A statement appeared on the website of the Constitutional Tribunal announcing that its president, Bogdan Święczkowski, and his deputy had been suspended from their duties for one month. The stated reason was that they had allegedly obstructed the convening of a general assembly of the court, including all judges lawfully elected by the Sejm, to approve the 2027 budget.
▪️ According to Reuters, security forces entered the grounds of the tribunal following [incidents] outside, including objects being thrown at them. The police themselves say they did not enter the building and are operating only around its perimeter. Three people were detained.
▪️ Święczkowski is refusing to comply. He was denied entry to the Constitutional Tribunal building. He later gained access to the grounds after a locksmith was called in and a gate was forced open.
▪️ President Karol Nawrocki interrupted his flight to Senegal and turned his plane around, saying that at such a moment, he needed to be in Poland.
▪️ The dispute has been going on for years and has effectively paralyzed the tribunal. This year, Nawrocki refused to swear in three of the six judges appointed by parliament, while Święczkowski barred judges elected by the current parliamentary majority from taking office.
▪️ Święczkowski has headed the Constitutional Tribunal since December 2024. He was nominated by former President Andrzej Duda. In 2025, Święczkowski had already filed a complaint with the Prosecutor General's Office, accusing Tusk of organizing a coup.
▪️ Essentially, this is a power struggle between two branches of government over control of the court.
