It’s been 3 months since I got serious about domain investing, and my first sale finally came through!
So far, I’ve been pretty happy with the small portfolio that I’ve built up. There were a few poor judgement calls that led to bad buys, but generally I’m satisfied with most of the domain names I’ve accumulated.
So, not having any sales yet didn’t discourage me in the slightest, as I know it takes time.
This little $399 BIN sale did catch me by surprise, and gave me some validation for what I’ve done so far.
Inbound sale via Dan @Undeveloped lander. Held for 51 days.

Non .com TLDs typically require a much stronger SLD to achieve a sale. But how strong does the SLD need to be?
We analyzed our sold domains for each extension to find the average and median number of TLDs registered at the time of sale.
Generally, higher TLD taken implies a much stronger SLD. As an example, on average, a .gg domain that sold was taken in 260 extensions, compared to 75 for .io and 2 for .com.
