Lost in the shuffle of the Palisades Fire: Moonshadows, built in 1966, now gone. The PCH eatery/bar had roots as the Big Rock Cafe.
Moonshadows was my "secret spot" to try and impress dates growing up. Friendly and affordable drinks on an oceanfront patio... a rarity in Malibu.
i make this drive nearly every single weekend. Seeing all the landmarks and places I grew up going to just obliterated is truly devastating. I live in the evacuation zone and was able to flee but I can’t even imagine coming home to an LA I don’t even recognize. Thank you @LAFD ❤️🩹
Will Rogers Estate and Moonshadows are gone. This is disastrous beyond. And obviously so much more. How much heartache can we take? My nostalgic heart is broken.
I lost a home in the 2018 Woolley fire. Was in Cali for New Years this year and podcasts - just evacuated my mom from her California home. The mayor is apparently in Ghana. The fire departments budget was apparently cut by 17 mil. And someone made the decision to not refill some of the reservoirs - now some fire hydrants are dry. Leadership in California is beyond negligent. This is completely unacceptable.
something america actually gets right is our commitment to air conditioning and ice cubes in drinks. like yeah healthcare would be nice but my god, room temperature water is an abomination
Rolling Stone writes Taylor Swift should not be held responsible for racist controversy surrounding Matty Healy:
“For the last 17 years, we’ve held this woman responsible for the actions of men she chooses to spend time with, and it’s time to stop.”
