Thank you to everyone who helped make our T20 friendly at East Hoathly happen. A fantastic night which saw East Hoathly win by 12 runs, but cricket was definitely the winner. Before the game we paid tribute to Bob Thompson and Tom Acus who recently passed away. Mares forever ππ
The Mares are back π. Today is game day for our Friendly XI who are away to East Hoathly in a T20 fixture. The match at East Hoathly Cricket Ground starts at 6pm. This is our team for the game. Have a good game and a good time everyone π
Some more sad news for the Mares this weekend. Tom Acus' daughter Sally has been in touch to say that Tom sadly passed away on Friday. Tom played for the club for many years, and was also our Chairman. Another lovely man who is a great part of our club history. RIP Tom.
Cricket is back at the Real MCG this afternoon as we host @MayfieldCricket 4ths for their 'home' league game against @laughtoncc 2nds. Mayfield lost the toss and were put into bat.
It's all over at the Real MCG. Well played @BuxtedParkCC who won by 26 runs. Malcolm Smith led the Maresfield chase with a fine 81. A great afternoon of cricket, and credit to both teams for a competitive but sporting game. #mares
Less than 24 hours until cricket returns to the real MCG for the 1st time in 2022 with a Sunday friendly local derby against @BuxtedParkCC. The game gets underway at 1.30pm. Maresfield C.C. sponsored by @ParkerBuilding1 Uckfield branch. #Mares
Things may be different for the Mares this season, but something that hasn't changed is the continued support of @ParkerBuilding1 Uckfield branch. Thank you for your sponsorship again π₯° Contact them on 01825 761661 or [email protected] for all your building material needs.
This was the moment Derek got off the mark, and got our successful run chase underway at Firle. Absolutely brilliant. Well played Mr Chairman, and thank you for stepping in to help out when we needed a player #Mares
Yesterday, for the 2nd time this season, we won. A fantastic 6 wkt win away to Firle. It was a brilliant team performance and showed what our club is about. Derek Barnard, our 77 year old Chairman, played to make up the numbers, and opened the batting. Well done everyone #Mares
@fredfertang He opened the batting and scored our 1st run, before he fell LBW in the next over. He fielded too for most of the overs (apart from when he wanted to change his socks π) What a top man he is.
